Chapter 204 Isabella is Happy
Although Frederick was very familiar with Prof. Rivera, Freya did not know him. She was stunned by his looks and aura! This man looked like he didn't belong in this world!
Isabella knew Freya was smitten again and called out to her, "Freya!"
Freya snapped back to reality, smiled awkwardly, and quickly ran over as she said, "I'm coming."
Isabella introduced, "This is Dennis's father, Mr. Valdemar. This is Dennis's uncle, Mr. Spencer. And this is my best friend, Freya Rivera."
Frederick was very gentlemanly, uttering, "Hello."
Elliot said with a big smile, "Hello, just call me Elliot."
Freya nodded and bowed, almost drooling. "Hello, since you're here, why don't you come inside and have a seat?"
Isabella's face changed, and she quickly nudged her quietly! Hugo, Justin, and Paul were still upstairs! This silly Freya loses it whenever she sees a handsome guy.
"They're busy, let's go. We still need to cook dinner." Isabella urged Freya to leave.
Freya loses her mind when she sees a handsome guy, and even when saying goodbye, she was still shouting, "Come over to our place when you have time; you're always welcome."
Isabella was silent.
After the group left with their gifts, Frederick and Elliot returned to the car.
Frederick instructed, "Get someone to keep an eye on things."
"Yeah, don't worry. I'll have a couple more people come over."
Elliot finished making arrangements over the phone and then started the car, asking Frederick, "Douglas called around noon to invite you to hang out. Do you want to go?"
Frederick hesitated for a moment, uttering, "Let's go see him."
As he finished speaking, he seemed to sense something, quickly turned his head to look out the car window, his eyes sharp and full of hostility.
But the corner was empty, and he didn't notice anything unusual.
Frederick frowned, thinking of something, and asked Elliot, "Have they found the lunatic who tried to throw a dead cat into Dennis's room last time?"
Elliot knew who he was talking about and nodded helplessly, replying, "It's like they disappeared. Oh, I forgot to tell you something. Watch this video first."
Elliot found a video on his phone and handed it to Frederick.
The video was from the night Frederick met Hugo, Justin, and Paul, showing Isabella talking to herself downstairs.
At that time, Isabella was waiting for the kids downstairs, initially looking towards the entrance of the building. But as she watched, she suddenly turned her head sharply. It was as if someone had called her from behind!
She looked around but saw no one, then looked back towards the building entrance. However, the next second, she turned around again in terror.
This time, she didn't just turn her head; she turned her whole body to face the night!
She cautiously and warily moved her lips, seemingly questioning who it was.
Then she started talking intermittently. Her emotions were clearly getting more and more tense!
Later, she took out her phone and looked at it, and whatever she saw almost made her break down.
In the end, she fainted!
After that, the video showed Elliot and the bodyguards rushing to her side to help her.
"Didn't they find any suspicious people in the neighborhood?" Frederick asked.
Elliot nodded firmly, answering, "No! The surveillance in the neighborhood wasn't tampered with either. Initially, the bodyguards said Ms. Beniere was talking to herself, but I always felt something was off."
Frederick retorted, "She wasn't talking to herself; she was communicating with something."
Frederick used the word 'something' instead of 'someone,' which gave Elliot the creeps.
He was already timid, and the mention of ghosts gave him goosebumps. He asked, "Ms. Beniere saw a ghost?"
Frederick said coldly, "There are no ghosts. Even if there were, they wouldn't dare cause trouble on my turf! It must be someone pretending to be a ghost! Did you get someone who can read lips to look at it?"
"Yes, but the video is too blurry to make out what Ms. Beniere was saying."
Frederick stared at the video in thought for a moment, remarking, "Search the area thoroughly to see if there's any communication equipment!"
He tossed the phone back to Elliot and lit a cigarette.
Over the years, he had encountered many strange things. Except for some phenomena in tombs that couldn't be explained scientifically, there couldn't be any ghosts in human-inhabited areas!
It was always people pretending to be ghosts! And people were scarier than ghosts!
If it was really a ghost communicating with Isabella that night, there wouldn't be much to worry about. The real concern was someone pretending to be a ghost to communicate with her!
What kind of normal person would pretend to be a ghost? Unless that person was not normal!
An abnormal person sneaks around to talk to Isabella at night. What did they talk about that scared Isabella so much?
After taking a few puffs of his cigarette, Frederick said in a deep voice, "Increase the investigation efforts and find that lunatic!"
Elliot was stunned, his expression tense as he inquired, "Eric, do you suspect that the person pretending to be a ghost in front of Ms. Beniere is the same person who tried to throw a dead cat into Dennis's room?"
"Very likely. First, find a way to catch them!"
He felt this person was mysterious and dangerous! There must be some hidden secret behind them!
Maybe it was a secret about him or Dennis, or even Isabella!
After the car completely disappeared, a black figure emerged from the corner, laughed twice while looking in their direction.
Then he looked up at the floor where Isabella was, eyes full of affection, uttering, "Isabella is happy, Isabella..."
The doorbell rang.
Isabella was still preparing ingredients, and Freya went to open the door. Seeing the delivery person outside, she asked curiously, "What's up?"
The delivery person said warmly, "Your cake has arrived."
Freya was even more curious, remarking, "I didn't order a cake!"
"Didn't you? This is the address. Aren't you Isabella?"
"Isabella?" Freya looked at the order, and sure enough, it had Isabella's name and phone number, and the address was her home.
"It's ours, thank you," she said.
After signing, Freya brought the cake inside, inquiring, "Isabella, did you order a cake? Is it someone's birthday today?"
Isabella was in the kitchen preparing food and replied, "I didn't order it."
"What? Then who did? It has your name and phone number."
"Let me see." Isabella looked at the order carefully, and sure enough, it was placed by her, with a note not to include mango.
She was allergic to mango.
"The delivery person didn't make a mistake, but it definitely wasn't me who ordered it," Isabella said firmly.
Isabella asked the kids, but it wasn't them either.
Freya said, "I bet it was Dennis's dad who ordered it."
"Why would he order a cake if no one has a birthday?"
"To cheer us up, today is a happy day."
Isabella didn't understand. They were happy because they reunited with Dennis, but why would he be happy?
Moreover...
Isabella looked at the card on the cake carefully, her eyebrows tightly knit as she uttered, "It definitely wasn't him! Look at what the cake says. If it were from him, he wouldn't write this!"
Freya tilted her head and looked curiously, remarking, "This indeed doesn't seem like his style!"
