Chapter 208 Does Eric have plans tonight?
However, he did not voice his question, instead turning to Dennis and asking, "Did you have fun today?"
"Yeah! It was great! I want to come play with them often," Dennis replied happily.
"Sure."
Dennis's eyes lit up with surprise. "Really?"
Frederick smiled and affectionately ruffled his hair, saying, "Of course it's true. I am happy for you to make new friends."
"Then I'll come again tomorrow!"
"Okay."
Isabella, taken aback by Frederick's prompt agreement, glanced at him curiously. Was he in an unusually good mood today?
Once in the car, Isabella yawned. A lot had happened today, consuming a lot of energy, and with the alcohol, she was tired.
Dennis was very considerate, saying, "Mommy, if you're tired, just take a nap. I'm here with you."
The implication was, don't worry about Frederick taking the opportunity to bully you.
Isabella was touched and pinched Dennis's cheek. "Then I'll nap for a bit. Call Mommy if you need anything."
"Okay."
Isabella leaned back in her seat and fell asleep. Dennis thoughtfully asked Elliot to turn up the temperature in the car and covered Isabella with Frederick's coat.
Frederick squinted at Dennis's series of actions. Just as Dennis finished, he was about to say something when Dennis made a shushing gesture. "Mommy is sleeping; be quiet."
Frederick felt both jealous and gratified. Jealous because Dennis was so good to Isabella that it made his father a bit envious. Gratified because Dennis seemed to be becoming more like a normal child, his psychological issues were rapidly healing.
Frederick listened to Dennis and kept silent. He sneaked a glance at Isabella, calculating in his mind.
The ride was silent, and when they arrived at the community gate, Isabella was still asleep. However, Frederick offered, "Let her sleep; I'll carry her up later."
Dennis, unaware of Frederick's ulterior motives, nodded appreciatively. "Daddy, you should be good to Mommy."
Frederick squinted his eyes and didn't respond.
Elliot suddenly stopped the car as he said, "Frederick, Ms. Walter."
Frederick and Dennis both looked out the window, their expressions identical, both frowning.
Alison ran to the back and knocked on the window, uttering, "Frederick!"
The commotion was somewhat loud, disturbing Isabella. Though her eyes remained closed, she frowned slightly, caught in a state between wakefulness and slumber.
Dennis quickly said to Frederick, "Daddy, she's disturbing Mommy. Go talk to her outside!"
Frederick grunted and got out of the car with a dark face.
As soon as the door opened, a cold breeze rushed in, and the sound of the door closing woke Isabella. She rubbed her eyes and sat up. "Are we home?"
"Yeah, we just arrived," said Dennis.
Isabella observed Frederick and Alison from the car window. Though they were some distance away, preventing Isabella from clearly seeing Alison's face, a sense of familiarity lingered.
Where had she seen the woman before?
"Mommy, don't misunderstand. Daddy doesn't like her," Dennis suddenly explained.
Isabella quickly looked away. Whether he liked her or not had nothing to do with her.
Isabella smiled at Dennis. "Never mind them. Let's go home."
Who knew how long they would talk? They couldn't just sit in the car and wait!
Dennis nodded and got out of the car with Isabella.
Isabella glanced in their direction again out of habit, but didn't think much of it, and carried Dennis towards the building entrance.
Frederick and Alison noticed her too. Seeing her awake, Frederick's face darkened even more. He had planned to carry her upstairs while she was asleep and pluck a few strands of her hair, but now his plan had failed.
Alison's eyes reddened even more as she remarked, "Frederick, are you ignoring me because of her? Are you bewitched by her?"
Frederick was annoyed. "What do you want from me?"
Alison cried angrily, "I called and texted, but you didn't respond. I'm heartbroken! If I don't contact you, will you forget about me? Tell me honestly, is she stopping you from talking to me?"
This accusatory tone made Frederick very unhappy, and he replied coldly, "Do you really not know why I'm ignoring you?!"
"I know it's because Susan hired someone to kidnap her, but it's been so long, are you still not over it?" Alison replied.
"Well, it's been so long; have you realized your mistake?" Frederick retorted.
Alison bit her lip; she didn't think she was wrong! She liked Frederick, and if any other woman dared to covet him, of course, she had to get rid of them! Isabella was still alive because she was lucky! Just wait, she would kill her sooner or later!
Thinking of her mother Donna's words, Alison reluctantly said, "It's because I realized my mistake that I came to apologize! Because of this, you won't cooperate with the Walter family anymore, and my dad was so angry he almost wanted to kill me!
"Frederick, can't you just let it go? For the sake of saving Dennis back then, forgive me this once, okay?"
She tugged at Frederick's sleeve, acting coquettishly.
Frederick's face turned cold, and he glared at her hand. "Do you want to lose your hand?"
Alison shivered in fear and quickly withdrew her hand.
Suppressing his disgust, Frederick said, "You saved Dennis, and I won't be stingy in repaying that debt, but you better wake up and stop coveting things you shouldn't! Focus on being a star and making your money, and stop wasting your thoughts on me!
"Also, I've warned you, Isabella is under my protection. Stay away from her and don't provoke her! If you go now, I'll restore the cooperation between the Valdemar Group and the Walter family."
With that, Frederick stubbed out his cigarette and walked away without giving Alison another glance. He could see clearly that Alison hadn't realized her mistake. So much time had passed, and she was still the same. She was beyond saving.
Therefore, he didn't bother to reason with her anymore; it wasn't his duty to educate her. That was the Walter family's problem! He only needed to repay her for saving Dennis's life.
Frederick entered the building, and Alison screamed and tried to follow, but Elliot stopped her. "Ms. Walter, please leave. Don't upset Frederick. If he gets angry, it won't end well for you."
Alison, furious, slapped Elliot. "Who do you think you are? How dare you talk to me?"
A handprint appeared on Elliot's handsome face, and he looked at Alison coldly.
Alison shivered in fear, but shouted, "What are you going to do? Are you going to hit me? If you dare to hit me, Frederick will kill you!"
Elliot rolled his eyes and said coldly, "I'll let this slap go because of Dennis. Please leave."
He then called over two men to forcibly escort Alison away.
As she left, Alison cursed and looked as if she wanted to tear Elliot apart! Before getting into the car, she glared up at the building, gritting her teeth, "Isabella, you bitch, just you wait!"
After the commotion died down, a bodyguard approached Elliot and asked, "She slapped you, and you didn't hit back. Why put up with her?"
Elliot shrugged indifferently. "Why bother with an idiot? Besides, she did save Dennis. Taking a slap for that isn't a big deal."
The bodyguard muttered, "I really don't know how God arranged it so that someone like her became Dennis's savior! Ms. Beniere is so much better! By the way, is Ms. Beniere the person Frederick has been looking for?"
"We'll probably know by tonight," Elliot replied.
"Huh? Does Frederick have something planned tonight?"
Elliot glanced meaningfully up at the building but didn't respond. He knew Frederick well; Frederick definitely had something planned for tonight.
