Chapter 176 Frederick Still Have Hope!
Frederick coughed twice, furrowing his brows and rubbing his chest, looking very uncomfortable.
Seeing this, Dennis quickly ran over, exclaiming, "Daddy."
He squatted down and helped Frederick rub his chest as he asked, "What's wrong, Daddy? Are you feeling very uncomfortable?"
Although Dennis was angry with Frederick tonight for making Isabella sad, and for not realizing that Isabella was the person he had been looking for all along, and for making her cry multiple times, Dennis's love for Frederick was genuine.
Dennis wasn't good with words, but he knew in his heart who treated him well.
Seeing Frederick in discomfort now, he was very worried.
Isabella really didn't want to deal with Frederick, but if she didn't, it would only trouble Dennis.
And seeing Dennis so anxious, she felt heartbroken too.
She explained, "He drank too much, so of course, he feels bad. But don't worry; it is a normal reaction. He'll feel better after he throws up."
As soon as Isabella finished speaking, Frederick suddenly made a retching motion, startling her.
She quickly stepped forward and pulled him up, shouting, "Don't throw up here! Go to the bathroom!"
Frederick's eyes were still closed, clearly not fully awake.
But he seemed to have heard Isabella's words, swaying as he got up, and was cooperatively being helped to the bathroom by Isabella.
As soon as the toilet lid was lifted, he started vomiting violently.
Isabella was disgusted but didn't leave him alone. She stood beside him, gently patting his back to make him feel more comfortable.
Dennis, feeling very sorry for Frederick, quickly ran to the kitchen to get a cup of warm water.
Isabella asked, "Do we have any hangover medicine at home?"
"I don't know. Should I go buy some?"
"The pharmacies are closed at this hour. It's okay, he doesn't need hangover medicine. He'll feel better after throwing up and getting some sleep."
Dennis furrowed his little brows, inquiring, "Why did he drink so much?"
Isabella shook her head, replying, "I don't know either."
"Was he drinking with you?"
"No, he was sent to me after he got drunk, and then I brought him back. Does he often get this drunk?"
"No. He has a big smoking habit but not a drinking habit. This is the first time I've seen him drunk."
The first time? Isabella was a bit surprised and instinctively glanced at Frederick.
From Dennis's perspective, Frederick was a qualified dad!
Nowadays, many alcoholic fathers don't care about their children's physical and mental health, often getting drunk in front of them.
Alcohol is not a good thing, and people tend to lose control when drunk, behaving inappropriately, which is not good for a child's growth!
The fact that Frederick didn't get drunk in front of Dennis showed that he was aware of this. It also proved that he was a qualified dad in front of Dennis!
Although he was nothing in front of Hugo and Justin, he did well in front of Dennis!
"He was sad tonight," Dennis suddenly said, feeling a bit sad.
"What?"
"Something must have happened to make him sad, otherwise, he wouldn't drink so much. I know him," Dennis added.
Isabella was speechless.
Thinking back to their conversation at the pavilion before they parted, she understood!
He was sad because of Dennis's mother! He must have missed her! What right did he have to miss Dennis's mother?
Isabella pouted, but from another perspective, she had to admit that he was quite devoted!
Seeing Dennis's furrowed little brows and his heartbroken look, Isabella said, "Everyone has times when they feel sad. It's impossible to be happy all the time. Don't worry about him. He's just venting his emotions by getting drunk. He won't be sad once he sobers up."
Isabella didn't dare to mention his mother in front of Dennis, fearing it would make him sad.
But Dennis looked at her meaningfully and said, "He might be missing my mommy."
Dennis asked her, "If you were my real mommy, would you forgive him?"
Isabella had never thought about this question. Anyway, she had never thought about forgiving him!
But she couldn't say that to Dennis. Dennis always hoped his daddy and mommy would be together. If she said she wouldn't forgive him, Dennis would definitely be sad.
She explained, "Everyone sees things differently and has different thoughts, so I can't answer this question for your mommy."
Dennis insisted, "I want to hear your opinion. You don't have to put yourself in my mommy's shoes. Just think about yourself."
Isabella hesitated for a moment and asked him, "Dennis, do you know what your daddy did to your mommy?"
"Yes!"
"So if it were me, I would definitely be angry and not want to deal with him. But everything is full of variables. No one can predict the future. Maybe your daddy will move your mommy with his efforts, and when she softens her heart, she will forgive him."
Dennis was first nervous, then excited. In his excitement, he kicked Frederick!
He couldn't say what was on his mind in front of Isabella, so he secretly gave Frederick a look!
'Did you hear that? Hurry up and pursue her, move, mommy! You still have hope! You can still be saved!' Dennis thought. He completely forgot that Frederick was still drunk. Seeing that Frederick didn't react, he secretly kicked him twice more!
Frederick had just recovered a bit, but after being kicked three times by Dennis, he started vomiting again.
Seeing this, Isabella couldn't continue chatting with Dennis and started patting Frederick's back vigorously.
After he finished vomiting, she immediately handed him water to rinse his mouth and then struggled to help him back to the bedroom.
Dennis had already come to his senses. He ran in with a wet towel, wanting to wipe Frederick's face.
Isabella glanced at the time; it was already three in the morning.
She took the towel from Dennis's hand as she said, "Dennis, it's too late. You need to go to sleep."
Children are in their growing phase, and staying up late is very harmful!
Dennis looked worriedly at Frederick, who was sleeping on the bed.
Isabella said again, "Don't worry about your daddy. He won't feel so bad after throwing up. I'll take care of him. You go to sleep."
Dennis blinked. Isabella offered to take care of Frederick, which made him a bit happy.
He really wanted them to be together!
But...
"Doesn't mommy need to rest?" he asked.
"I'll go to the study to sleep after I take care of him. Don't worry about us. Be good and go to sleep. You need to grow tall, so you can't stay up late."
Dennis hesitated for a moment but still nodded and went back to his room.
He was worried about Frederick and felt sorry for Isabella, but he also wanted to give them some alone time.
After Dennis left, Isabella turned to look at the sleeping Frederick, and her expression immediately changed.
She walked over with the wet towel, muttering, "I must owe you from a past life! That's why I'm being bullied by you so much in this life, and still have to take care of you! If it weren't for Dennis, I would have thrown you outside to freeze into a popsicle! Let's see how you can be mean and glare at people then!"
She muttered angrily, but her actions of wiping his face were very gentle.
However, as soon as the towel brushed past his brows, her wrist was suddenly grabbed by him.
