Chapter 79 Frederick: I'm Such an Idiot
Elijah and Elliot were scratching their heads; this whole thing was just plain weird!
Usually, when a hero swoops in to save a damsel in distress, the girl’s all grateful and stuff.
But after Frederick saved someone, the girl called him a douchebag!
Elijah couldn’t help but ask, “Frederick, what did you do to Ms. Beniere to make her so mad the second she saw you?”
Frederick felt wronged and ticked off, thinking he was an idiot.
He figured Isabella was taking out all her anger on him, anger meant for the guys who tried to mess with her!
He snapped, “I didn’t do anything! No, wait, I made the mistake of saving her! Yeah, I stupidly saved her!”
Elijah was baffled. “You saved her, so why’s she so hostile towards you?”
“How should I know!” Frederick yelled.
Elijah tried to calm him down, “Chill, Ms. Beniere probably mistook you for the jerk who attacked her.”
Frederick shot back, “She was wide awake when I saved her!”
Elijah was even more confused. “Really? Then that’s weird. She should be grateful when she sees you.”
Not that he expected her to be over-the-top grateful, but a little thankfulness and maybe taking good care of Dennis would be nice!
Frederick stormed out of the hospital, fuming.
Isabella felt helpless too!
She knew Frederick had rushed over to save her, but she couldn’t help it; the whole scene dragged her back to six years ago.
That day six years ago was a nightmare, a total abyss!
The nightmare came rushing back, and she lost it.
Fear, frustration, and anger made Isabella unable to stand the sight of Frederick.
Seeing him made her feel wronged, made her break down, made her lose control.
“Isabella!” Freya suddenly showed up.
Isabella quickly wiped her tears. “Freya, what are you doing here?”
Freya replied, “I got a call saying something happened to you. I was scared out of my mind. What happened?”
Isabella sniffled, steadied herself, and gave a quick rundown of the situation.
Freya was shocked, both angry and heartbroken, her eyes welling up. “That damn witch! Isabella, let’s sue her and throw her in jail! I’ll call my parents right now to help us find a lawyer. We can’t let her get away with this!”
“I’ve already called the cops. Susan’s definitely facing legal trouble! Right now, I just want to get a divorce and take my kid away!” Isabella said.
This morning, she had happily made breakfast for Dennis and braved the cold and snow to bring it to his place.
Isabella hadn’t planned on leaving in a hurry.
But now, she didn’t want to stay another second; she wanted out immediately!
More than getting back at Susan, she wanted to leave Teronica as soon as possible!
She was terrified of this city.
Freya asked, “But your husband doesn’t even want to see you. How are you gonna get a divorce? You just gonna bail without one?”
Isabella shook her head. “No, I have to get the divorce before I leave!”
“But do you have any good ideas to make him agree?” Freya added.
Isabella thought hard for a moment, furrowing her brow. “Douglas!”
“Huh?”
Isabella explained, “Susan is his ex-girlfriend. Even though they broke up, this whole mess started because of him. I can use this to talk to him, and since Douglas has a sketchy relationship with my husband, he’d probably want us to get divorced too.”
Freya pondered for a moment. “That might work, but who knows if it will.”
Isabella replied, “Whether it works or not, we have to try! This divorce has to happen ASAP!”
