Mother of the Moon - Chapter 110 - Darkness
Zelena.
As soon as the door closed behind Tobias, Gunner leaped over his desk and had me pressed up against the wall. My hands were held tightly above my head by one of his hands and his other hand was gripping my jaw. His body was pressed hard up against mine, I was trapped and unable to move.
“Gunner” I huffed, partly from surprise, partly from annoyance at his roughness.
“What is going on?” he growled down at me,
“What do you mean?” I squeaked,
“You expect me to believe that an Alpha as strong and powerful as Tobias would just give it all up?”
“He explained that to you. What don’t you understand?”
“Are you fucking him?” Gunner hissed viciously. His chest vibrated against me and it immediately sent a rage burning through my body. How dare he. Drawing in the energy of the night, I used my powers to push him back and away from me. He tumbled over one of the chairs but quickly jumped back to his feet.
“How dare you!” I yelled. He stepped towards me and I lifted my hand, closing my fist tightly. I pictured my fingers wrapped around him, holding him in place as if he were a doll in my hand. The gravitational pull pour out of me and wrapped all around him. He was completely frozen, unable to move his arms or legs. The heat of his furious gaze burned into my face.
“Let me go” he growled through gritted teeth.
“Calm the fuck down” I yelled. His anger was starting to seep into me, if I don’t get him to relax, I’m afraid that it will overtake me.
“LET ME GO!” he roared again.
His anger was palpable, it prickled seductively across my skin. I could feel my claws push through the tips of my fingers. My gums ached with the need for my canines to extend. I rolled my head back and the heat of his fury crawled up the back of my neck. My eyes narrowed and heaviness filled my heart. I flexed the fingers of my outstretched hand, squeezing Gunner tighter. He roared again and tried to thrash fruitlessly under the grip of my power. The feeling of rage felt good under my skin. A darkness clouded my vision and I welcomed it. It was seductive, pulling me deeper under its spell. I could feel a tightness in my chest and my heartbeat accelerated. The feeling was intoxicating.
The office door suddenly flew open with a loud crash, and two gargantuan arms wrapped around my waist.
“Breathe little one, you need to calm down” Tobias’s calm voice echoed through my ears and his warm breath fanned across my cheek. He wrapped his fingers around my outstretched wrist but didn’t try to move it. The touch of his skin offered some relief to the anger, but I fought against it. I want to stay with the darkness, the anger, the numb feeling of nothingness.
“Get your filthy hands off my Mate!” Gunner screamed, still in the grasps of my power.
“Alpha, you need to calm down. Can you not see what you are doing to each other?” Tobias pleaded.
I struggled against his hold on me, but it was pointless. Being wrapped in his arms was like being tied down by ten-inch steel bars.
“Get off me” I screeched, trying my best to wriggle from his arms. The glass of the windows blew out with an almighty explosion. The air of the room grew heavy. The weight of it pulled Tobias towards the ground. His grip on me held firm, therefore, he was pulling me downwards with him. Gunner’s desk creaked and cracked and snapped in half, sending pieces of wood splintering through the air.
“Release her now” Gunner growled, his voice low and deadly.
“I can’t do that” Tobias remained calm and collected in the face of a raging Alpha and a powerful Goddess on the edge of exploding.
“Look at your Mate, little Goddess. Look into his eyes and find the love you have for each other. It’s in there, just remember Zelena”.
I squirmed and moved as much as I could, growling and grunting with each failed movement. Parts of the shattered desk were flying through the air at dangerous speeds. Tobias grabbed my face and turned my head towards Gunner. His calming presence was almost soothing, but the seduction of the anger and darkness was too much. I looked over Gunner, the position of his body looks somewhat awkward, legs pinned together and arms crossed over his chest. His face was red with anger and his blue eyes were wide and held a deadly warning. Even in his rage he is unbearably handsome. I stared deeply into his furious eyes, looking for a glimmer of the love I know we have.
“Gunner” I half growled, half huffed. His enraged gaze wavered for a moment, it was only a brief second, but I saw it. That was all it took. The rage within me dissipated almost instantly, and a deep regret filled its place. Broken pieces of wood rained down on the floor of the office. I breathed out a slow and ragged breath and relaxed into Tobias’s arms. The heaviness was gone from the room and the downward force with it.
“Alpha, I beg you please, you need to expel your anger before it consumes you”
“You need to take your hands off my Mate”
“I promise you, I am offering her no more than the support of a friend or a big brother. I have been chosen by the Goddess herself to protect her and that is what I will do. We have spoken of this, there is no kind of romantic feelings between either of us. You know this. You need to trust in your Mate and believe in the will of the Goddess”.
Gunner huffed and growled and struggled against my hold on him. After a minute of that he realised it was pointless. He looked up to me and stared into my eyes. I don’t know how long we gazed at each other, could have been seconds, minutes, or even hours. An array of emotions ran through me, I know he was feeling the same as me. We finally came to rest on remorse, guilt and love.
“Please Zelena, will you release me?” Gunner asked, he sounded defeated and full of shame.
“Are you okay now, Alpha?” the concerned Tobias asked, gently removing his arms from around me.
“He’s okay” I answered for him and pulled back my hold on Gunner. He slumped forward and fell to the floor on his knees. I rushed over to him, dropped to my knees and placed my hands on either side of his face. I gently lifted his face to look at me, and as soon as he did my heart broke a little. Tears streamed down his face and his lip quivered.
“I’m so sorry” he choked,
“I don’t know what happened, I just lost all control”.
I pulled him into my chest and rubbed my hand through his hair.
“It’s okay, we’re okay” I soothed. He pulled me onto his lap and buried his face in the crook of my neck. His breaths were ragged, and I could feel his chest shake with each expel of air. Tobias stood behind us near the door, not yet fully trusting that the situation had eased. I continued to run my hand in slow calming circles on his back for what felt like hours. With me still in his arms, Gunner began to stand up. I wrapped my legs around his waist and held on to his shoulders. He walked us over to his large leather office chair and sat back down, shifting me so that I now sat across his legs.
“Tobias, I apologise for my outburst” Gunner said gruffly, returning back to his Alpha wolf mode.
“Not a problem Alpha, I understand” he replied stepping closer to us.
“I did not intend to offend you. Of course you can become a member of Tri-Moon and can remain in your current room in the main house”
“Thank you Alpha” Tobias placed his hand over his chest and bowed low. I released a breath and relaxed further into Gunner's chest. I looked up to him and smiled to show my appreciation. It took a minute but we got there, eventually. I just hope that Roe doesn’t learn of this little incident. I don’t think I could handle her disapproving gaze and strong scolding about the dangers of giving into the anger. Gunner gently traced his finger down my cheek and over my lips, his beautiful blue eyes held a sparkle of adoration.
“But please refer to me as Gunner. You’re important to my Mate, so you are important to me” he said averting his gaze back to Tobias.
“As you wish Alpha Gunner” Tobias answered with a small bow of his head. Gunner chuckled and any remaining tension melted away.
“I would like to offer you a role in the pack Tobias. How do you feel about commander?”
“It is really not necessary. I am happy to just be accepted”
“I insist. You deserve a title of some sort”
“With all due respect Alpha Gunner, if I were to accept a commanding role, I fear it will serve as a distraction to my guardian duties”.
Gunner paused and ran a hand through his hair. He was clearly thinking of another role he could offer. Gunner already has a Beta in Cole and a Delta in Smith. I’m still not completely educated about all things Were, but I don’t think there is any other kind of title.
“Well, I suppose guardian to the Goddess is a pretty good title” I piped up. Gunner smiled down at me and Tobias chuckled quietly.
“It is a pretty good title, isn’t it?” Gunner agreed. I sat up straight and readjusted the placing of my butt on his legs. Gunner gripped my hips tight and eased me back on his lap. I could feel the outline of his semi hard dick underneath my ass cheeks. A slight blush blew across my face as I turned away from Tobias.
“How do you feel about Lead Advisor?” Gunner asked reverting his attention back to Tobias.
“Advisor?” he repeated.
“Yes, you’re a strong and highly capable Were. You were an excellent Alpha and I feel like you could offer a lot to this pack. I can’t offer you my Beta position as you know, but I do want to incorporate you into the organisation and running of this pack. Being my leading advisor is a good way to make that happen”.
Tobias looked between the two of us for a moment before his eyes settle on me. I nodded my head and smiled with encouragement.
“Thank you, Gunner. I will do my best not to disappoint you” Tobias stood and bowed again with his hand over his heart.
“As long as you continue to be a loyal guardian and trusted advisor, I have no doubts about your capabilities”.
Gunner lifted me from his lap and stepped around large pieces of his broken desk to stand in front of Tobias. They took each other’s forearms and pressed their foreheads together. They held the position for a few seconds before breaking apart and smiling at each other. The two most important men in my life have finally come together. And they did it for me. I couldn’t keep back the smile that spread across my face as I watched them. Gunner turned to me and smiled.
“If you don’t mind Tobias, Zee and I have a few things to discuss” Gunner said to him as he walked back over to my side and placed his hand gently on my shoulder.
“Of course. Have a good night” Tobias said, offering a small smirk before walking out of the door. Gunner picked me up and I wrapped my legs around his waist. He pressed my back up against the wall and pushed his hips into my own. He pressed his lips to the base of my neck and I angled my head back to give him more room.
“I’m so sorry my love, you know I would never intentionally hurt you?” Gunner mumbled into the soft skin of my neck.
“I know” I answered in a strained voice.
“I think I should show you just how sorry I am” he teased, tracing his tongue up my neck to my earlobe and biting on it softly. I gasped and arched my back, pressing my chest into his.
“I think you should too” I moaned softly. Gunner released my ear and pulled back before pressing his lips to mine. Our lips moved with an insatiable hunger as our tongues danced together. I squeezed my thighs tightly around his waist and dragged my fingers through his hair. He pulled me off the wall, bracing me by my ass and headed for the door.
“Where are we going?” I mumbled into his mouth.
“To bed. Once I start my apology, I don’t plan on stopping until you are fully satisfied”
“Mm well this may take a while”
“Oh baby, I’m planning on it”.
