Mother of the Moon - Chapter 161 - Battle Plans

Lunaya.

“Have any of you even tried to flash the Triple Goddess?” the Howlers Alpha asked, his deep gruff voice was full of frustration.
“Don’t test me, Alpha Lace! Of course we have tried to reach her. Only Gunner, Tobias and Smith have links with her, and none of them can get through to her” Cole snarled at the burly tattooed Alpha.
“Is she blocking you, or is something blocking her?” asked the Waning Wolf Alpha, Travis,
“The little Goddess has only had her wolf for a short time, as she didn’t grow up with Weres, there is a lot that she doesn't know. She trains daily, but her skills are still limited” Tobias chimed in,
“And you're telling us this why?” Alpha Lace sneered at him,
“Because she has not mastered the skill of blocking yet. She can’t block out her feelings and emotions nor can she stop herself from projecting them. Which means she also can’t hold off an open link” Tobias snarled back.
“So then something is blocking her, either they have drugged her, or she is unconscious” Alpha Travis concluded. A deathly growl rumbled through my body at hearing what they could possibly be doing to her. I want that Origin Wolf Alpha’s head on a platter and his limbs scattered across the corners of the world.
“And your scouts have found nothing? There have been no signs, anywhere, of anything?” asked the Alpha Lace,
“Not as yet” Cole answered him,
“So, we’re chasing ghosts? How the fuck are we meant to prepare for a fight, when we don’t know who or what we are fighting against?” he shouted.
“If you’re too fucking scared to stick around, then head on back to your pack of mutts” Tobias yelled across the table at him,
“Howlers are scared of nothing!” he screamed back,
“Then why is your tail between your legs?” Tobias sneered. The amount of tension in the room was gagging. Four current Alpha’s, two former Alpha’s, a couple of Beta’s and some warriors, all of which are on edge. I’m surprised that no one has lost an arm... or a throat, yet.
“Enough!” Lupus’s loud and firm voice bellowed around the room. The shouting stopped and all eyes turned to Lupus.
“We all want her back. We are all here to get her back. Ripping each other apart is not going to help. Settle down and listen up” he demanded of the room.
“We have five packs ready to go to war against whoever has taken the Triple Goddess” Cole began,
“Six” Elaine interjected. All eyes now turned in her direction.
“Excuse me?” Cole asked with a curious yet annoyed tone,
“Myself and my she-wolves will fight, plus, more Luna Eclipse warriors are on the way” she said in an uncaring manner.
“They are?” I asked her. She turned to me with a frown and nodded her head.
“When?” Cole asked,
“The Alpha and fifteen warriors will arrive either through the night, or first thing in the morning” she answered him. I watched Elaine as I processed what she was saying. I have made that journey, on average it took nearly three days. Which means she called for them before Artemis revealed himself, it would have been right after Zelena was taken, if not before. If it was after, then she knew a fight was coming in order to get her back. If it was before, the night of the dinner maybe, what would have possessed her to call for backup? She wouldn’t... She wasn’t going to... Was she planning on attacking Tri-Moon?
The door burst open once again and a breathless Smith, with two other Weres behind him, filled the doorway.
“We found them” he huffed out. The aura of the room exploded into a mix of fury, excitement, rage and anticipation.
“How?” Lupus grunted angrily,
“We picked up Jackson’s scent not far out of Inverness, followed him to the Mabou harbour mouth before we lost him in the water. But then we found them all”
“Where?” growled Cole,
“They’ve taken over a farm near Little Mabou, but Cole, that’s not all” Smith said, with concern written all over his face.
“What is it?” Cole asked,
“It’s not just Origin Wolf, there has to be at least three other packs with him. It was hard to see all of the land without getting seen, but there has to be around one fifty, maybe two hundred of them”.
“They’re gearing up to fight then?” the Alpha from Waning Wolf spoke.
“It appears that way” Smith nodded to him,
“It’s settled then. We gather our warriors and go fetch the little Goddess” the Alpha said as he crossed his arms over his chest. Growls of agreement from the other Weres filled the room.
“Howlers will fight” Alpha Lace growled with excitement.
“Blue Moon are with the Goddess” the smaller version of Tobias inserted, I'm assuming he’s his brother, the one Tobias handed the role of Alpha to. Elaine grunted and nodded her head, indicating that Luna Eclipse was in for the battle too. All eyes then turned to Alpha Ambrose of Lua Chei. He had been watching and listening quietly without adding any input. I have no idea where he stands on this. He folded his arms in front of him and lowered his head. We all stood silent, waiting for him to speak. After a brief pause, he lifted his head and turned his gaze to mine.
“My eldest son will join us with three commanders and their patrols” he told us,
“Lua Chei is south of Little Mabou. If your warriors are coming from your pack lands, then they too will be travelling from the south. I think it is best that they join together and converge on the farm from the opposite direction to us. With Tri-Moon, Blue Moon, and what other warriors we have here already, we will come from the north, cutting them off and getting them surrounded. Leaving no room for escape” Alpha Ambrose spoke confidently. He directed his eyes first to the Alpha’s from Howlers and Waning Wolf, as neither of their packs are in Nova Scotia. He then turned to Tobias and his brother, as their fighters are already here. As he finished verbalising his plan, he was looking at Cole. All this time he wasn’t being indecisive, he already decided they would fight and had moved on to battle plans. We all stood and contemplated his plan. It is a good one, makes a lot of sense and leaves little room for surprises.
“Alpha Travis, Alpha Lace, how long will it take to organise your packs?” Cole asked the two Alpha’s across from him.
“Howlers are ready and will move out tonight” Alpha Lace replied instantly.
“Waning Wolf can also be ready to go by tonight” Alpha Travis answered.
“Good, organise together where to get them to meet up before crossing onto the island. Alpha Ambrose?” Cole said as he turned to face him,
“Yes?” the Alpha replied,
“You can get your son and his men to wait at the Causeway, then you will all cross together?” Cole more so requested than he did ask. Alpha Ambrose nodded his head and smiled,
“That was my thinking as well” he said proudly. He is a very smart Were, a good Alpha. Ares has definitely had a good teacher. I hope he follows in his father’s footsteps.
“And how many in total will that give us? Will it be enough?” asked Lupus, to no one in particular.
“Waning Wolf will bring four patrols, roughly sixty-five” answered Alpha Travis,
“Seventy from Howlers” Alpha Lace answered,
“Blue Moon have brought forty-nine” Tobias’s younger brother spoke, I should find out what his name is.
“With the additional fifteen from Luna Eclipse and the one twenty we have ready to fight, then we should outnumber them easily. That is if Smith has estimated their numbers correctly” Lupus said with are more confident tone.
“Like I said, it was hard to tell for sure, but I'm pretty confident” Smith told everyone.
“Okay, go and make your final preparations. We will meet again to go over finer details in two hours” Cole said with finality. The groups broke apart and began to head out of the room. Cole, Lupus and I stayed behind. Cole looked me over before looking to Lupus,
“He isn’t going to be okay with being left behind” Cole said cautiously.
“We can’t Cole. We still don’t know what is going on with him. If Artemis poisoned this one, he may have been doing the same to Gunner. If we take him, and if we get her back, what if he attacks her again?” Lupus said annoyed,
“WHEN” I said in a low voice. They looked at me with unsaid questions,
“You said ‘if’ we get her back, you should have said ‘when’ we get her back” I reiterated.
“And so we will” Lupus said as he placed his hand on my shoulder,
“I promise you” he nodded.
