Mother of the Moon - Chapter 114 - The Next Day
Lunaya.
I snapped my eyes to Elaine, as Beta this proposition was all her call. A scurry of thoughts berated my brain. She will never agree to this, Luna Eclipse are too secretive. She has to agree, it’s our only way to find her. This would never work, Hina would hate this idea.
“Agreed” Elaine said standing up and taking Astéri’s forearm.
My mouth hit the floor. I thought it would take a hell of a lot longer for her to agree than that, or that she would need to consult Hina or something. Relief washed though me and I smiled to Alyse. But wait, Astéri just threw this offer out there so quickly, did she discuss it with her daughter at all or is she just being throw to the wolves. Literally. How could she be ok with leaving her family and her home to travel halfway across the planet. Also, would she stay there indefinitely or come back again after the alliance is made. I looked up to Analah who was sitting next to her mother. She had a wide smile across her face and was happily talking to her brothers. She looks pretty excited about the deal. Maybe she is more in the know than I thought. Then again, it is absolutely none of my concern or my business anyway.
“Well now that that is settled, I suppose we should talk details” called Elaine, rubbing her hands together and sitting back down.
“I think we have all had enough excitement for one day. Perhaps we could call it a night and set up talks and further arrangements tomorrow, when we are well rested and not piled with wine” Astéri suggested. I immediately went to refuse but Alyse gripped my arm and held me in my seat.
***She’s right, we’ve both had a bit to drink***
***I don’t want to wait any longer***
***What’s one more day going to hurt?***
I groaned and sat back in my chair. Elaine eyed me carefully before turning her attention back to Astéri and agreeing. Analah talked very animatedly with her brothers, her excitement was palpable and a little contagious. I couldn’t help but smile at her excitement. She looks very much like her mother. A young fresh face with bright grey eyes and soft blonde hair. She was tall and lean and had some defined muscles in her arms. I would bet she is a skilled fighter or climber. She’ll fit in well at Luna Eclipse, for however long she stays there.
“Well ladies, if you’ll excuse me, I think I’ll call it a night. I have three very lovely women at home waiting on me” Ares called as he wrapped an arm around his mother’s waist and planted a kiss to her cheek.
“I’m proud of you sis, you’ll do great” he said pulling Analah in for a tight hug.
“Ladies” he bowed to Alyse and I, then turned and left the dining room.
“I like him, he’s a good man” Alyse said quietly into my ear.
“I agree” I smiled and rubbed my hand over her back.
Ahmad, Venus and Phoebe all headed off as well. Elaine, Analah and Astéri were deep into conversation, but I was too tired to follow it properly. Plus, the sooner I get to sleep the sooner it will be tomorrow, and I will find out where my daughter is.
“You ready love?” I asked Alyse as I pressed my lips to her neck.
“Sure am” she whispered. We both stood up and bid goodnight the others. Cleo sat quietly and kept her gaze firmly on the both of us as we departed the dining room.
“Cleo kind of creeps me out” Alyse whispered as we got to our bedroom door.
“Me too, she is always watching and barely speaks” I agreed.
“Come on, let’s have a nice hot shower before bed. It’ll help you relax” Alyse said as she pulled me into the bathroom. She turned on the tap in the shower and the room slowly started to fill up with steam. We both got undressed and stepped in together. Alyse soaped up a sponge and glided it gently over my entire body, I then did the same for her. I stood under the stream of hot water and watched Alyse wash her hair. How is it that everything she does looks beautiful and graceful? I grabbed her arm and pulled her into my body, wrapping my long arms tightly around her upper body. She snaked her arms around my waits and rested her cheek on my chest. And we stood like that for a long while. Just being together, in each other arms. Basking in the feelings of love and devotion that swirled between us.
“This is nice” Alyse said softly after a while.
“It is” I agreed.
“But I’m falling asleep, so let’s get into bed before you have to carry my comatose body”.
Alyse stretched her arms above her and stepped out of my hold. I turned off the taps and followed her out of the shower. She threw me a towel and wrapped another one around her body before walking back out to the bedroom. I dried off and hung the towel back up, then walked naked out to the bed. I sat on the edge of the bed and watched as Alyse dug through her bag, eventually pulling out a pair of grey boy short panties and a white singlet top. She slipped them on and turned to the bed, sauntering over to me. She eyed me up and down and smirked.
“You plan on getting dressed?” she asked with a devilish glint to her eye.
“Oh baby, you know I prefer to sleep naked” I answered and laid back on the bed, stretching out, “You haven’t done that in a while” she chuckled and slipped under the covers.
“Well in case you forgot, we’ve been living in a nonstop snowing blizzard for the past few weeks. But now in this deliciously warm and comfortable little cabin I can get as naked as I want”.
Alyse laughed and pressed her head into the pillow, pulling the covers over her body a bit tighter. She let out a groan and smiled without opening her eyes.
“This is really nice” she moaned,
“You’re really nice” I teased and slid in under the covers next to her. I pulled her into my chest, and she reciprocated by snuggling into me.
“I love you” she said sleepily.
“I love you too beautiful”.
Alyse’s soft snores quickly filled the room. With the warmth of her body and the calmness of the crackling fire, I soon drifted off to sleep.

The morning light filtered through the large windows, and the sounds of nature beyond filled the space around my head with happiness and contentment. I groaned and rolled over, feeling for Alyse’s sleeping form beside me. The bed was empty. I shot up and looked at the empty space beside me and then move my eyes around the room. She sat on the armchair between the window and the fireplace. The light from outside shone through and hit her face in the most picturesque way. Her skin glowed and eyes sparkled under the light. She was holding a cup with steam rising from it while reading a book.
“Good Goddess you’re beautiful” I gushed. I pulled my knees to my chest and let my hands hang over them.
“Good morning, how’d you sleep?” she smiled and placed her book on the coffee table in front of her.
“I slept better than I have in a really long time” I said smiling wide and stretching my sleepy muscles.
“I could tell, it’s after ten”
“Is it really?”
“Yep, I wanted to let you sleep. You needed it”
“You were right, as usual”.
I crawled to the end of the bed and kicked my legs out over the edge. The room looks just as magnificent in the day light. The sunlight and the feel of the wilderness outside was calling to me. As I sat looking out over the trees through the open double doors that led to the patio, my stomach growled with ferocious hunger. Alyse giggled and set her cup down.
“Breakfast was brought in about half an hour ago, they figured we were still sleeping” Alyse said as she picked up a tray and carried it over to me.
“I didn’t even hear it” I replied, slightly surprised and annoyed with myself. I should never have slept through something like that, what if it wasn’t a friendly visitor. I have never not woken up at the sounds of other people entering or coming in close proximity to where we sleep. It’s just the way I was trained and raised. Always sleep with one eye open.
“Thanks love” I said as I took the tray from her. There was two pieces of, I suspect, cold toast and a bowl with cereal and a small glass jug of milk.
“You’re not eating?” I asked Alyse.
“No, I actually went and had breakfast with Elaine and the others” she chuckled.
“You did?”
“I did”.
The thought of Alyse going off on her own irked me, even if we have established that we’re welcome and safe here. You can’t always account for all dangers, and you never know who or what might decide they want to take issue with you. Especially if they suspected that she could be a half-breed. I looked up to Alyse and took in her happy and relaxed expression. I swallowed down the scolding I wanted to give her, not wanting to dampen the joyful mood she was currently in and smiled at her before shoving the toast in my mouth. It was cold and had lost most of its crunch, but the cinnamon and butter is still delicious.
“Now, after you’ve eaten and put some clothes on, we are going to have a little bit of fun” Alyse said cheerfully as she turned and walked off to the bathroom.
“Are we just? And what kind of fun are you thinking of?” I yelled to her,
“There is a shit load of activities available out here. Water rafting, rock climbing, bush walking, kayaking, swimming, cooking classes and forest bathing. Now I don’t really know what forest bathing is, but it sounds super sensual and relaxing” Alyse yelled back. I could hear her shuffling around in the bathroom as she spoke.
“So, what do you think?” she asked, poking her head through the doorway,
“It all sounds great actually, except maybe the cooking class. I’ll pass on that one”
“I thought you would say that” she laughed and disappeared back into the bathroom.
“I really want to check out the forest and go swimming. So maybe a walk first and then a dip to cool off?”
“Sounds good”.
