Mother of the Moon - Chapter 169 - A Rescue
Zelena.
The howling in the distance was closing in. By the sounds of it, Gunner has brought backup. Maybe even all of the packs that remained after the party. That would be a lot of fighters. I haven’t seen much of Galterio’s camp, but I don’t think he had that many Weres. Wolves and Weres were running all around the yard, scattering to their battle positions. But I was only focused on Galterio. He kidnapped me, violated my flesh, threatened my bond with Gunner, threatened our pup and he is straight up coo-coo. He dies today. Galterio crouched down, readying himself to charge. I twitched and stretched my fingers, feeling the power twirl around my flexed fingers. More of his men came for me, teeth bared, claws out and ready to kill. I lifted my forcefield to hold them back, but one slipped through before I could. I dodged backwards, narrowly avoiding the extended claws of the angry Were. As I was distracted by him, Galterio made his move. He charged forward, lowered his shoulder and barged me over. I fell onto my back and Galterio pinned me down with his paw on my shoulder. The other Were quickly threw his body across my legs, restricting my movements. I tried to push Galterio back but he dug his claws into my collarbone. I screamed out in pain. For a Were that claims he wants to be my Mate, he sure isn’t too worried about hurting me.
I struggled under the weight of his paw. Knowing my power is near useless against him, made fighting him off that much more challenging. I kicked at my legs wildly, trying to kick off the Were holding them down. Galterio shifted so that he was now standing over my head. I looked up at his furry stomach as he moved his face toward my belly. He opened his massive jaws wide and held it above my stomach. His long sharp fangs were only centimetres from my abdomen. I kicked and hit and punched like my life depended on it, because let’s face it, it does. Galterio growled and leaned down further so that the tips of his teeth pressed against my stomach. Right at the place where my pup would be.
“No please! Stop! Don’t hurt him” I screamed and begged him. Galterio’s wolf scraped his teeth over my stomach again as a rumbling growl vibrated through him. He was toying with me. Showing me how easy it would be for him to kill both my pup and me. I thrashed under his paw and ripped out a fistful of his fur. Galterio pressed his teeth harder against my stomach, piercing the skin. I could feel the constricting pressure in my lower abdomen. Galterio growled and shook his head. His teeth against my flesh pressed and tore deeper into my skin. Once again, I screamed. Not because it hurt, because it really did. But I screamed out of fear, I was scared for my baby. Galterio was warning me. Giving me a chance to stop fighting before he actually rips the baby from my stomach. There’s no guarantee that if I quit fighting, that if I give up, he will actually spare my baby’s life. I could keep fighting. Try the use of my power more and risk draining my energy. But there’s no guarantee that that will work either. What choice do I really have, when he has his teeth pressed at my pup’s neck.
“Okay” I huffed,
“I’ll stop fighting, I’ll stay. Just let him go. Please. Spare my baby” I sobbed and let my body go limp. Galterio withdrew his teeth from my stomach and stood up straight, also pulling his claws from my chest. I winced at the pain, but held in the urge to scream again. Galterio’s wolf huffed and growled and jerked his head. The Were that was laying on my legs mumbled a quick ‘yes Alpha’ and then scrambled off of me. He picked me up by the arm and began to drag me back to the house. Now that I was standing once again, I got a better look of the surrounds. All the Weres from before had disappeared, but the loud sounds of fighting was coming from close by. Really close by. How did I not hear that before. I looked around the yard and out through the trees. With the sun now just a little bit higher in the sky, it was starting to lighten up and I could see further into the forest. I caught sight of a large group of wolves fighting. They’re here. I looked to the other side and again saw more wolves fighting. They’re all here.
I was only a few steps away from Galterio’s wolf when a thunderous growl rumbled through the yard. I turned my head just in time to see a large brown wolf tackle Galterio to the ground. The Were pulling me to the house became rougher and more urgent with his dragging. The torn skin of my chest was stretching and stinging at the angle of which he was pulling my arm, and my ankle was impossible to stand on. But still I fought to watch the wolf tackle Galterio. They rolled across the ground and both quickly got back on to their feet. As they began to circle each other, I got a better look at the brown wolf. I’ve seen that wolf before. It’s Cole.
“COLE!” I screamed at the top of my lungs as I tried to rip my arms free of the other Were. When I couldn’t get free, I turned to him and held up my hand. I increased the gravity around him, and inside him as well. He screamed and let go of my arm. But just to be sure, using both my hands, I flew them towards each other and clapped them together loudly. The Weres body compacted in on itself in a horrible array of scrunching and squelching. Done. I quickly turned back around to see Galterio and Cole going for each other’s necks. The roaring, barking and growling was deafening, and the blood, fur and saliva flying everywhere was making me want to vomit. I have to do something. I have to help him. I waited, watching nervously. I finally saw an opening, Galterio reared back in order to lunge forward with more power. Before he got the chance to, I flew him to the side and slammed him into a tree, then again into another tree. But he still got back up, so, I sent him high into the air and then pulled him crashing back down again. This time he didn’t get up. Cole’s wolf limped over to me and shook out his fur. He stood up in his human form, in all his naked glory. He was covered in blood and deep slash marks. Three really bad slashes ran parallel up the side of his neck and over his cheek.
“Oh Cole” I said weakly as I eyed all of his wounds.
