Chapter 15 Micah Eats at the Cafeteria

The holiday ended quickly, and Sadie was back to her busy work schedule. She had been busy all morning and finally took a breather at lunchtime.

The cafeteria was bustling with people and filled with tantalizing aromas. Sadie walked in, her eyes scanning the array of exquisite dishes, and her appetite was instantly piqued. No wonder people online said that the best perk of working at VIC Group was the cafeteria food—it was comparable to a five-star restaurant. And it was a buffet, so you could eat until you were absolutely stuffed!

Just as she was about to get in line for food, she saw the CEO, Micah, stepping out of the elevator. His tall and commanding presence immediately made the atmosphere tense.

The employees all cautiously stepped aside, heads slightly bowed, not daring to look at him.

'What a handsome guy,' Sadie thought to herself, sneaking a glance before lowering her head again. She couldn't help but smile. No wonder Micah had such a big reputation; his presence was impossible to ignore.

"Sadie, over here!" her colleague Cheryl Perez called out, snapping Sadie back to reality. She smiled and walked toward Cheryl.

As soon as she sat down, Samuel came over with a confident smile and sat next to her. "Hey, Sadie, the lunch is pretty good today, huh?" he said, nudging her arm with his elbow, trying to get closer.

Sadie rolled her eyes and hurried away to keep some distance from Samuel.

"Why are you eating so little?" Samuel asked, trying to transfer some food from his plate to Sadie's. Sadie quickly moved her plate away and ignored him, focusing on her meal.

The atmosphere became a bit awkward. Colleague Sharon Reed whispered, "What's the occasion today? Why is Mr. Clemens eating in the cafeteria? He usually doesn't come here."

"Mr. Clemens has such a strong presence," another female employee, Bonnie Peterson, said in a low voice, glancing at the table diagonally across from them. "I don't even dare to speak loudly."

"Exactly," Helen Watson whispered, raising her hand and holding chopsticks. "Look at my hand. It's been shaking the whole time!"

Samuel, recently brushed off, said smugly, "No need to be so nervous. Mr. Clemens may seem cold, but he's actually very approachable."

"You know him?" Helen asked.

"More than just know him," Samuel hinted, "my relationship with Mr. Clemens is quite special." His message was clear: he knew Micah well, and they should be careful to please him. A few colleagues chimed in with compliments, which Samuel accepted seriously.

He tried once more to get close to Sadie. "Sadie, if you want to meet him, I can introduce you."

Sadie frowned slightly, feeling a wave of disgust. "No, thank you."

"Don't be so polite," Samuel said, his tone becoming more suggestive, a hint of malice in his eyes. "Actually, I think you're pretty great. How about we chat more?"

Sadie felt a surge of nausea, sensing Samuel's intentions. She didn't want to listen anymore, so she picked up her tray and prepared to leave.

"Sadie, where are you going?" Samuel asked, looking displeased.

"I'm not hungry anymore," Sadie replied coldly. With Samuel around, she completely lost her appetite.

But Samuel quickly caught up and blocked her path. He said, "What's the rush? Let's walk together."

"Mr. Brown, I don't know you well..." Before she could finish her sentence, she felt someone bump into her from behind, causing her to lose her balance. Her tray flew out of her hands and landed squarely on Samuel's face.

"Ah!" Samuel screamed, his face instantly covered in food and soup, looking utterly ridiculous. He angrily raised his hand to wipe the food off his face, his eyes burning with rage.

Sadie was stunned, but instead of panicking, she felt a surge of happiness and couldn't help but laugh. Realizing it was impolite, she quickly apologized, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. Someone bumped into me just now, so..."
