Chapter 1553 Pawn
"He knew from the start you couldn't keep up the act for long. He wasn't worried about me exposing your identity because he needed everyone to believe you were Micah."
"Then, he started making a big fuss about the poisoning and the kids, setting the stage step by step to get what he wanted."
"So, he poisoned you early on and set up today's scheme to test the blood and DNA, pinning two crimes on me."
"This way, he could force me to give back the shares and assets, then have you break off the engagement with me as Micah, and finally kick me out of the Clemens Family."
"And you, as his pawn, will probably die from the poison soon."
"Of course, before anything happens to you, he'll have you marry his daughter as Micah. Once you're married, you'll die from the poison."
"His daughter, as the legal wife, will naturally inherit the Clemens Group's assets."
"This plan is truly brilliant!"
Sadie couldn't help but applaud, "I almost want to give him a round of applause. Don't you think so, Alan?"
Alan's face changed dramatically upon hearing this, and he looked around in panic.
The bodyguards stood in the corners, solemnly guarding the area, not daring to interfere.
Rylan and Dahlia had heard the conversation, their faces showing shock, but they quickly calmed down, as if they had already suspected it.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
Alan flatly denied Sadie's words, but his eyes were filled with panic.
Did that person really poison him?
If it was true, then all of Sadie's speculations were accurate.
It meant that person had always seen him as a pawn, willing to poison him to win this game, and would likely discard him once he was no longer useful.
The more Alan thought about it, the more uneasy and panicked he became.
But he also remembered what that person had said when he hung up the phone earlier.
'Don't worry, I've made all the arrangements. We're sure to win, but you must stay confident. No matter what Sadie says, don't believe her.'
Sadie was his enemy, and what she said could be lies meant to sow discord.
He couldn't believe her, absolutely not.
"Alan, I always thought you were just a carefree person, not inherently bad. But I never expected you to get plastic surgery to look like Micah and come back to harm him."
Sadie continued, "You've really disappointed me."
"Enough!" Alan interrupted Sadie angrily, glaring at her coldly. "Just wait quietly for the results. Stop babbling."
He was furious. If he weren't pretending to be Micah, he would argue with her about what true nature and harm meant.
In Alan's view, Micah killing his mother was the real harm!
"Okay!" Sadie shrugged and looked down at her watch. "Micah will be back soon. Then, you won't be able to keep up the act."
Alan sneered coldly, thinking, 'Let him come back and we'll see.'
They stopped talking and continued to wait in silence.
Alan appeared calm on the surface, but his mind was in turmoil, replaying Sadie's words over and over.
He was starting to suspect that the person had indeed poisoned him to harm him.
No wonder he had been feeling unwell and out of sorts lately.
Sadie leisurely sipped her coffee, glancing at Alan from the corner of her eye.
Seeing his inner panic despite his calm facade, a faint smile curved her lips.
Time ticked by, and three hours passed.
Now, there was only one hour left until the DNA test results would be revealed.
