Chapter 1669 Kill You

Everyone was stunned, staring at the bodyguard lying on the ground, then at the girl.

"I didn't touch him, I swear," the girl said, raising her hands with an innocent look. "I just came in to let everyone know the meeting is about to start."

With that, she slipped out of the room.

Her sudden entrance and exit left everyone bewildered.

At that moment, Declan and a few board members came in looking for Ryan. They saw Nicholas and "Micah" there, and Ryan being held by two bodyguards, and they froze in shock.

One of the board members quickly reacted, saying excitedly, "Let go of Ryan right now, or I'm calling the police!"

Nicholas frowned and made a gesture.

The bodyguards released Ryan.

"Ryan," Chloe rushed forward to support him.

"We were just having a chat with Ryan," Alan stood up. "It's about time for the meeting."

Then he walked out first.

Nicholas also got up and followed him out of Ryan's office.

Once they were gone, Declan and the others hurried into the office, closed the door, and anxiously asked, "What happened?"

"They're forcing Ryan to sell his shares," Chloe said angrily. "They even tried to rough him up just now. It's outrageous."

"This is unacceptable, absolutely outrageous!"

Declan and the others were indignant. They knew very well that if Nicholas could treat Ryan with such disrespect, he wouldn't treat them any better.

So, it was crucial to stick together at this moment.

"Has Silas arrived?" Ryan was more concerned about the bigger picture than himself. "And what about Sadie, have you reached her?"

"No, none of our calls are going through. It's really strange," Declan said anxiously. "Could it be Nicholas's doing? What's he up to? Should we call the police?"

"Yes, call the police."

"Call the police? And say what?" Ryan countered. "Everything he's doing at VIC Group is legal. What are we going to accuse him of?"

That left Declan and the others speechless.

"Let's head to the conference room."

Ryan clutched his chest, feeling unwell, but he was determined to get through the meeting. He wouldn't give in until the very last moment.

"Alright."

They supported Ryan and headed to the conference room together.

In the CEO's office, Nicholas frowned and asked, "Still no internet?"

"No," the secretary said quietly. "The entire building lost internet about an hour ago. Not just Wi-Fi, but all communication signals are down too."

"Strange, who's behind this?" Nicholas frowned deeply. "Could it be Ryan?"

"Possibly, he's a tech genius," the secretary glanced at the door and whispered, "If the internet isn't restored soon, we won't be able to process the transfer paperwork."

"Get someone on it immediately," Nicholas snapped.

"Yes, sir," the secretary hurried off.

Alan lowered his voice and sneered, "Someone doesn't want you to succeed."

"Don't forget, you're in this with me," Nicholas glared at him coldly. "If I go down, you're going down too!"

"Either way, I'm dead," Alan glared back angrily. "You poisoned me, who knows when the poison will kick in?"

"How many times do I have to tell you? I didn't poison you," Nicholas was exasperated. "Sadie is trying to drive a wedge between us."

"But I had my blood tested. I watched them do the tests, and the results were clear. There's no mistake," Alan was still fixated on the issue.

"Fine," Nicholas said patiently. "After the meeting, I'll take you for a check-up. You'll see for yourself if you're poisoned or not."

"Your hospitals, your results. How can I trust that?" Alan didn't believe him at all.

"I'm done talking to you," Nicholas pointed a threatening finger at him. "If you mess up my plans, I'll kill you right now."
