Chapter 1626 Complete Breakup
"I wonder what's up with Olivia," Annika said, curiosity in her voice. "Wasn't she with Alan? Did she find out something later and regret it?"
Sadie was quiet for a few moments before letting out a sigh. "She's had a rough life. Being betrayed by her own dad must be crushing."
Annika sighed too, feeling the weight of it.
"Alright, you stay with Andrew and don't forget the medicine," Sadie whispered. "I'm gonna check on Nathan."
"Okay."
Sadie went back to her room, took a quick shower, changed clothes, and then headed downstairs to see Nathan.
Nathan was hooked up to an IV, and Dahlia was tending to his external injuries.
Mia stood in the corner, clutching her white alpaca, her eyes brimming with tears as she watched Nathan.
She covered her mouth with her small hand, afraid to make a sound, worried she might disturb Nathan.
"Mia!" Sadie hugged Mia, comforting her gently. "Don't be scared, Nathan's gonna be okay."
"Mommy." Mia saw Sadie and immediately ran into her arms, tears streaming down her face as she asked anxiously, "What about Noah? Will Noah come back?"
"He will. They'll bring Noah back soon," Sadie wiped her tears away. "Our family will be together again soon."
Mia nodded, tears still falling, but she kept quiet.
Sadie hugged her, then asked Jessica to take her out. She approached the bed and asked Dahlia quietly, "How is he?"
"The external injuries aren't too bad, but he's got severe pneumonia from the flu," Dahlia frowned. "Luckily, he's strong from regular exercise, otherwise it could be worse."
Dahlia paused and then added, "We have enough medical equipment at home. I'll get some more medicine later."
Sadie couldn't stay calm after hearing this. Nathan was the healthiest of the three kids because of his exercise routine, but Noah wasn't as strong.
They must have endured the same treatment during the kidnapping. If Nathan was this sick, Noah must be worse.
"Ms. James, don't worry," Dahlia saw Sadie's concern and quickly reassured her.
"I just got a call from Rylan. He and a few others managed to escape and are no longer under those bastards' control. He's going to meet up with Jesse to help find Noah."
"That's great," Arya said quickly. "Jesse has been working tirelessly for a week and is exhausted. With Rylan's help, the search won't be interrupted."
"Rylan took eighteen of Mr. Clemens' bodyguards with him. They'll definitely be helpful," Dahlia said. "But with them gone, Alan will be even more reckless."
"The priority is to rescue Noah first," Sadie said, then asked, "But how did Rylan manage to escape and take those eighteen people with him?"
"I'm not sure," Dahlia admitted. "I was surprised when I got the call. He told me we don't have to follow that impostor's orders anymore!"
"Are they going to confront him directly?" Arya asked, shocked.
"Yes, it's a direct confrontation!"
At that moment, a voice came from the doorway. It was Rodolfo, leaning on a cane.
"Rodolfo, what are you doing here?" Arya hurried over to support him.
Rodolfo patted her hand and said to Sadie, "Ms. James, my leg is much better now. I want to join Rylan."
"You can't! You're still injured," Arya said quickly.
"It's almost healed. Even if I can't fight, I can drive. It's my left leg that's hurt," Rodolfo said urgently. "I've been lying around for so long. I need to do something."
