Chapter 1549 Victory or Defeat Hinges on This Moment 2
The mastermind behind the scenes knew this charade couldn't last much longer and that they needed to act fast.
Sadie was also eager for them to make their move soon, to end this quickly.
The longer it dragged on, the more danger Micah would be in.
So, Sadie decided to play along, letting them gain some advantage to lure them out.
However, this plan came with its risks.
Now, the children were involved.
If Annika couldn't find the real Micah in time, the other side would win this round.
Ryan and Silas were meticulous and impartial when it came to verifying the DNA.
As planned, they first took the doctor to the game room to draw blood from the three children under the pretense of a health check, then went to the CEO's office to draw blood from "Micah."
At this moment, "Micah" had come out of the bathroom and was sitting on the couch, enjoying a steak and fine wine.
After being cooped up for so long, only allowed to drink mineral water and rice soup, he was now completely liberated and didn't need to pretend anymore.
He had already passed on the information. The person on the other end had assured him that even if Micah was still alive, they would never let Sadie's people find him.
Now, this "Micah" was the real Micah!
So, he had nothing to worry about. He just needed to eat, drink, and wait for the results.
On the other hand, Sadie was very worried. She was concerned about the children's thoughts and Micah's safety.
If Riley had indeed saved him, he should be receiving treatment now.
But without Hubert's prescription and with time being so tight, no one knew how effective the treatment was.
No one even knew if Micah had been injured in the fire.
What puzzled Sadie was why Riley had taken Micah.
If Riley had taken him, why hadn't she contacted her? And did Tristan know about this situation?
A million questions swirled in Sadie's mind, driving her nearly insane.
"Mr. Clemens, you shouldn't drink alcohol while having blood drawn," the doctor cautiously reminded.
"A few sips won't hurt."
"Micah" said, rolling up his sleeve and extending his arm confidently.
The doctor drew several vials of blood, carefully storing them before taking them to the company's medical lab for testing.
Before this, Silas had arranged for the hospital to bring over the testing equipment.
Today, they intended to resolve everything within the company.
The board members and senior executives were still in the conference room, waiting for the results.
"How long will it take to get the results?" Silas asked.
"We'll start the tests immediately," the doctor replied. "The toxicity results will be quick, but the DNA results will take about five hours."
"Alright," Silas nodded, leading Declan and two other senior board members to the medical lab with the doctor.
Ryan, looking exhausted, still managed to say to Sadie, "Sadie, don't worry. We believe in you."
"Are you saying you believe her but not me?"
"Micah" asked indignantly.
"I believe in the real Mr. Clemens," Ryan replied.
"Micah" was taken aback.
If he remembered correctly, Ryan shouldn't know his true identity.
But now...
Ryan said nothing more, giving Sadie a deep look before turning to leave.
He seemed unwell, walking with great effort.
Chloe immediately stepped forward to support him.
Sadie felt deeply grateful.
Despite the trouble she had caused Ryan over the chip issue years ago, he was now the one who unwaveringly believed in her.
