Chapter 1647 Green Snake
Alan arrived at the clinic's second floor, flanked by his bodyguards. The director greeted him personally and led him to get his blood drawn for testing.
Alan glanced around nervously, worried about being followed.
There were no signs of anyone from the Graham Family around, just as his subordinates had assured him. The Graham Family probably wouldn't bother with such a small clinic.
Still, Alan couldn't shake his unease.
"Mr. Clemens, please have a seat."
The director led Alan to a room. "I'll call the doctor to draw your blood for testing. Please wait a moment."
Alan nodded and sat down, sipping some water.
His subordinates were also extremely cautious, scanning the area to ensure there were no suspicious individuals before standing guard by his side.
Outside, Riley was preparing to make her move when a green snake suddenly slithered out from her sleeve, flicking its tongue anxiously.
Her expression changed, and she cursed under her breath, "Damn it, they've tracked me here."
She quickly left.
At that moment, the director was passing by with medical staff, heading swiftly to Alan's room.
Riley gestured to the green snake, and in a flash of green light, it slipped into a nurse's collar, accompanying her into the room.
"Mr. Clemens, we're ready to draw your blood now," the director said warmly.
"Alright." Alan rolled up his sleeve, cooperating with the procedure.
The nurse was about to start when she felt a sudden chill on her back. She instinctively scratched at it but found nothing and thought no more of it.
As the blood draw began, Alan suddenly felt a sharp pain in his ankle. He instinctively stomped his foot and rolled up his pant leg to check, but found nothing.
The pain was fleeting and quickly disappeared.
"What's wrong?" the director asked with concern.
"Your environment is terrible," Alan frowned in displeasure. "I just got bitten by a bug."
"My apologies," the director quickly said. "Next time, I'll make sure to disinfect thoroughly. This won't happen again."
"There won't be a next time."
Alan shot him a glare, thinking that once he got the results, he would never come back to this place.
Riley left the clinic, casually raising her hand, and the green snake landed on her wrist.
Seeing the blood on the snake's mouth, she smiled triumphantly, glancing up at the familiar figure by the second-floor window.
She coldly muttered, "Mess with my child, and I'll make you wish you were dead."
A beat-up car sped away from the back door, with Terry and his team belatedly following, racing to catch up but quickly losing sight of it.
In the car, Terry slammed the steering wheel in frustration, gritting his teeth. "That damn witch is such a hassle. We finally found her, and she slipped away again!"
"Terry, you better watch out calling her a witch. Mr. James won't be happy."
"Shut up!"
"Yes, sir."
Back in the clinic, Alan had his blood drawn but didn't leave immediately. He waited in the room for the results.
To avoid any complications, he needed to get the results personally before leaving.
He also sent two subordinates to accompany the medical staff to the lab, supervising them all the way.
"Mr. Clemens, would you like some coffee?" The director offered Alan his best coffee.
Alan took a sip and frowned. "Why is it so bitter?"
"Maybe my coffee isn't good enough for you. I'll go buy some."
"No need."
Alan's frown deepened. For some reason, his unease was growing. Perhaps it was the anticipation of the results that made him both expectant and anxious.
He wondered if Nicholas had really poisoned him.
Just as he was thinking about it, his phone vibrated. It was a call from Nicholas. Alan's face twisted in annoyance, but he answered the call anyway.
