Chapter 1558 The True Expert
Micah would never say something like that.
Silas stared at Alan, his brows furrowing tightly.
"Ms. James, sign the papers," Anthony urged softly. "Sign them, and everyone will be better off."
Sadie didn't say another word. She picked up the pen and signed her name on the document.
Alan's eyes lit up as he looked at the thick stack of papers.
Declan was also a bit excited.
"Alright," Silas said in a low voice, watching Sadie finish signing. "You can leave now. I'll handle the board."
Sadie didn't say anything, just shot Alan a cold glare before turning to leave.
Arya and the two female bodyguards followed behind her.
The bodyguards cleared the way for them, while everyone else watched them indifferently.
As they walked out of the CEO's office, Chloe looked at Sadie from a distance, wanting to say something but ultimately not daring to approach.
Everyone in the office watched Sadie leave without saying a word to her.
A few board members angrily cursed, "She got off too easy!"
Sadie, with Arya and the others, stepped into the elevator.
The doors were about to close.
Suddenly, Ryan emerged from the crowd and said softly, "Sadie, take care of the kids. We'll meet again!"
Sadie nodded at him without saying anything.
They exited the elevator and got into the car.
Arya couldn't help but curse, "What kind of people are they? Fair-weather friends, shameless scoundrels."
"Has Annika sent any news yet?" the other female bodyguard asked cautiously. "Haven't they found Mr. Clemens?"
"Finding him isn't that quick," Arya said, frustrated. "Actually, while waiting for the test results, I've been in contact with Annika. They've tried everything to find him, but there's been no progress."
"So, that phone call earlier..."
"That was me having Annika call on purpose," Arya explained. "I wanted the imposter to think we had found Mr. Clemens, making him nervous and slip up under Ms. James' pressure."
"Got it, that makes sense."
The two bodyguards suddenly understood.
"We were so close to succeeding. I didn't expect the mastermind to call and warn him in time," Arya said angrily. "Ms. James did so well; the imposter was no match for her. But the mastermind really has some tricks up his sleeve."
"Arya!" Sadie suddenly thought of something and urgently instructed, "Head straight to the garden villa to pick up the kids."
"Got it." Arya immediately started the car and drove off.
"Call Jesse and have him send people to meet us there," Sadie ordered.
"Yes." The female bodyguard quickly made the call.
"Drive faster."
Sadie urged, feeling a sudden sense of foreboding. She feared that the mastermind might target the kids. If he got hold of them, she would be completely powerless.
She wouldn't dare resist or struggle, and in the end, she would be at his mercy.
"Ms. James, I can't reach Jesse," the female bodyguard said anxiously. "What should we do?"
"Call Annika and have her come back."
Sadie was getting worried. She began to realize she had underestimated the mastermind.
She had always thought she was in control, going along with the flow, making plans according to her wishes.
But now she understood that the real mastermind was Nicholas!
He had anticipated all her moves, letting Alan follow her lead, making her think he was as easy to deal with as Alan.
Sadie now realized that Nicholas had used Alan's incompetence to hide his own strength.
At this point, Nicholas had completely taken control of the situation. If he managed to get hold of the kids, even the real Micah returning wouldn't be able to stop him.
