Chapter 1641 Choose One
Alan stood frozen, staring blankly at the will, unable to utter a single word.
His mind was racing. Even though he was currently using Micah's identity, half of his assets had been taken away, and the inheritance rights had been reclaimed by Raymond and given to those three kids.
In other words, aside from owning twenty percent of the Clemens Group's shares, he had nothing else.
And even that twenty percent had to be shared equally with Sadie.
No matter what decision he made, it had to be approved by Sadie.
For instance, if he wanted Nicholas to join the board, he needed Sadie's consent; otherwise, he couldn't do anything.
So, what was the point of his identity now?
While he was lost in confusion, his secretary softly reminded him, "Mr. Clemens, the funds can be converted into shares of both the Clemens Group and the VIC Group."
Alan's eyes lit up immediately. "Yeah, yeah, it's just a few billion dollars, right? Give her ten percent of the Clemens Group shares, and the rest in VIC Group shares."
"Mr. Clemens, we've already calculated it." The accountant handed him a sheet. "The market value of VIC Group shares is only one-tenth of the Clemens Group's."
"In other words, even if you give Ms. James all of VIC Group, you still need to give her ten percent of the Clemens Group shares."
Alan was stunned. He couldn't believe it. "No way, did you make a mistake? This is just over two years of personal income, and it equals the entire VIC Group?"
"No mistake." The accountant was very certain. "The VIC Group has been investing for years and only started making money in the last three years. The contract you signed with Ms. James was within these three years."
The accountant paused and added, "The Clemens Group has been profitable over these three years, and the amount allocated to you is this much."
Alan almost choked on his own breath. He was so furious that veins were bulging on his forehead, and he couldn't say a word.
"Which option do you want to go with?" Anthony asked cautiously. "Give Ms. James the VIC Group and ten percent of the Clemens Group shares, or just give her twenty percent of the Clemens Group shares?"
"Let me think."
Alan's head was about to explode; he had no idea what to do.
"Mr. Clemens, this is a big decision. Maybe you should take some time to think it over and respond later?" his secretary quietly suggested.
"Right." Alan snapped back to reality. "I need to think about it. I'll decide later."
Everyone looked at Sadie, waiting for her to speak.
"How much later?" Sadie asked coldly. "These board members have been waiting here for hours. You don't expect them to spend the night in the conference room, do you?"
"Since everyone is here, you should decide soon," Ryan urged.
"Yes, we're all waiting for your decision," Silas added slowly.
"Half an hour," Alan said angrily. "I need to use the restroom. I'll decide when I get back."
With that, he walked out.
The secretary and a few bodyguards quickly followed him.
"Restroom, my foot. He's clearly going to consult Mr. Graham," Chloe said angrily. "What's wrong with Mr. Clemens? He has to ask Mr. Graham about everything now."
"Yeah, during the last meeting, he was also following Mr. Graham's lead."
A few young executives said worriedly, "Mr. Clemens has been acting really strange since he came back."
"Even his preferences have changed," a junior secretary whispered. "He doesn't focus on work anymore, just plays games in the office. Most documents are reviewed by that new secretary, and he just signs them."
