Chapter 1654 Situation
Sadie was just about to text Tristan when his call came through. She quickly answered, "Tristan, thanks!"
"No need to thank me," Tristan's tone was as indifferent as ever. "Remember, once the Clemens Family situation is resolved, head back to Country E immediately."
"Tristan..."
"And another thing," Tristan cut her off, his voice stern, "If Riley shows up, grab her immediately. Don't let her get away, got it?"
Sadie was taken aback and asked, "Tristan, what's going on between you and Riley?"
"Stop with the questions, just do as I say!"
Tristan reiterated his command and hung up abruptly.
Sadie was left holding her phone, puzzled.
Soon, Terry called: "Ms. James, I won't be meeting up with you. Send me the clues you have, and I'll start the search directly. I'll update you if I find anything."
"Alright, I'll have Annika send them to you right away." Sadie gestured to Annika.
Annika promptly complied.
"Oh, Terry," Sadie remembered an important question, "Is Tristan hurt?"
Terry immediately asked, "How did you know?"
"Tristan is really hurt?" Sadie was shocked. "No wonder he's so anxious to find Riley. How bad is it?"
"It's not too serious, but it's not minor either."
Terry seemed to be holding back, hesitant to say more but unable to stay silent. "Mr. James really needs Riley right now, so if she shows up, let me know so I can bring her back to Country E."
"Got it." Sadie felt guilty. "I've been so focused on getting Riley to heal Micah that I didn't realize Tristan was hurt too. I'm so selfish."
"No, no, saving lives is paramount. From a moral standpoint, it's right to prioritize Mr. Clemens. Mr. James's issue isn't life-threatening, it's just..."
"Just what?" Sadie pressed.
"It's classified, I can't say!"
Seeing Terry's reluctance, Sadie didn't push further and changed the subject. "Alright, then I'll leave the child's rescue to you!"
"We're family, no need to be formal."
After hanging up, Sadie quickly went to discuss with Rylan. With Terry now involved in the search, their action plan might need adjustments.
After sending the information, Annika came over to report, "I've sent it. Terry's team is searching another route. Also, we got word that Alan is heading towards Crestonvale."
"Looks like my provocation worked. He's feeling the effects of the poison and is going to Crestonvale for further testing."
"Seems so," Annika sighed in relief. "Great, everything is moving in the right direction."
Sadie's furrowed brow finally relaxed. Just then, Ryan called. She quickly answered, "Ryan, it's late, what's up?"
"I just got inside information. Nicholas is trying to buy shares from the board members at a high price."
"The Clemens Group shares?" Sadie was surprised. "They don't have many shares left."
"Not many, but with thirty-plus people, it adds up to just over ten percent," Ryan said urgently. "That ten percent, combined with Alan's remaining twenty percent, is enough to challenge you."
"No wonder he didn't make any moves yesterday and let me get the shares smoothly. He's been scheming behind the scenes."
"Nicholas is a tough opponent. I'm trying to persuade them not to sell, but it's not looking good given the current situation."
