Chapter 16 Little Coco Is Sick

As Sadie spoke, she turned her head, wanting to find out who bumped into her. Then she saw Micah, with a stern face, walking straight past her. Sadie pondered, 'Could it be that Micah bumped into me? But he has four bodyguards with him. How could he still bump into me? It must have been on purpose!'

"Are you blind?" Samuel roared, his voice echoing in the restaurant. This drew the attention of everyone around, who started whispering.

"Sorry." Sadie pointed in the direction Micah had left, weakly explaining, "It was Mr. Clemens who bumped into me just now. I accidentally..."

"Accidentally? Are you kidding?" Samuel interrupted, his face turning red with anger. He pointed at Sadie, who was full of dissatisfaction.

"So what do you want?" Sadie smiled and pointed at Micah's back, "Do you want Mr. Clemens to apologize to you?"

As if to echo Sadie's words, Andrew walked over but stopped six feet away from Samuel, coldly asking, "Are you blaming Mr. Clemens?"

"No, no, no, how could I dare?" Samuel hurriedly explained, "I was talking about her; no, I mean myself; I wasn't watching where I was going."

"That's more like it." Andrew nodded in satisfaction, then sternly reminded, "Be careful when you walk, especially in the restaurant; don't waste food!"

"Yes!" Samuel lowered his head humbly.

Andrew suddenly felt a sense of great power, especially since he was acting on Micah's instructions. Originally, Andrew was just watching the commotion. Generally, the people around Micah wouldn't intervene in such trivial matters between ordinary employees. But at that moment, he clearly understood Micah's look, which was to stand up for Sadie.

Andrew suppressed Samuel into silence, making him flee in embarrassment. Sadie didn't hide her good mood; Her lips curved into a joyful smile.

Seeing Sadie's secret joy, a faint smile appeared on Micah's lips. His good mood lasted until he reached the elevator hall before he received that phone call.

His subordinate reported, "Mr. Clemens, we've caught Panther, but he doesn't have the chip on him. It's probably hidden somewhere else. No matter how I interrogate him, he won't say. Looks like we'll need to use some methods!"

"Check the surveillance, see if he has any accomplices," Micah ordered coldly.

"Yes!" the subordinate complied.

The three kids, who Micah referred to as Panther's accomplices, had already returned home, sitting at the dining table, smelling the delicious dinner, and eating.

Noah was the most particular about dining etiquette. Not only did he not make a mess like an ordinary three-year-old, but his every move was elegant and proper.

Nathan's eating style was much more hearty. He was gnawing on a chicken leg, often looking worriedly at Little Coco. Usually, Little Coco had a good appetite like Nathan, but today was different.

Little Coco lay listlessly on Mia's shoulder, showing no interest in eating. Mia gently scratched Little Coco's head, trying to tempt it with its favorite nuts. She coaxed, "Little Coco, come eat some nuts!"

Little Coco kept shaking its head, hiccupping continuously.

Sadie walked out of the kitchen, holding a bowl of fruit salad. Seeing Little Coco in such a state made her feel uneasy.

"Mommy, Little Coco hasn't eaten anything since last night and keeps hiccupping. Is it sick?" Mia frowned, a hint of worry in her eyes. She said, "It doesn't seem to like eating."

"Could it be that it hasn't recovered from the scare at the mall that day?" Brenda said lightly, trying to comfort Mia, but she was also a bit puzzled.

Listening to the family's discussion, Nathan finally couldn't hold it in and spoke up, "Mommy, actually, Little Coco swallowed a piece of gold; that's why it's uncomfortable."

"Gold?" Sadie was a bit confused. Where would there be gold at home for it to eat?

Nathan had no choice but to recount everything that happened in the bathroom today to his family.

"Have you been watching too many cartoons?" Noah said helplessly.

"Oh, you tell such good stories!" Brenda said proudly.

"Why don't you believe me?" Nathan was so anxious that his face turned red. He asked, "Mommy, do you believe me?"

"I believe you!" Sadie said, putting a piece of chicken wing in his bowl. "After dinner, we'll take Little Coco to the vet."

"Yes, let's take Little Coco to the vet first." Mia nodded. She only cared about Little Coco, not the truth.

Nathan pouted, feeling very aggrieved.

After dinner, Sadie took Little Coco to the pet hospital. Mia eagerly ran to the front desk and asked the doctor, "Doctor, is my Little Coco sick?"

"We'll check it for you." The doctor smiled, taking Little Coco and comforting her, "Please wait a moment."

Soon, the results came out. Little Coco had eaten something wrong and had indigestion. Some medicine to help it pass would solve the problem.

Nathan, however, made a secret resolution in his heart. He thought, 'I'll observe Little Coco's feces for the next few days and wait for Little Coco to pass the gold! That way, everyone will believe me!'
