Chapter 1545 Dealing with the Conspiracy
"No, no need for a blood test."
At this, "Micah" panicked and quickly tried to stop Sadie.
But Sadie had already hung up the phone and calmly announced, "Dahlia's on her way. She should be here soon."
"Honey, I've always told you, if you're feeling off, you need to see a doctor. We need to do a blood test to figure out what's wrong so we can treat it properly."
"I'm not sick."
"Micah" hurriedly explained. "I don't need a blood test."
"How can you say that?" Sadie raised an eyebrow. "Everyone just accused me of poisoning you, saying you were affected by the James Family's snake venom, and you didn't say a word."
"Alright." Sadie ignored Micah and instead raised her phone, smiling sweetly. "Anything else you want to do? Just let me know, and I'll take care of it right away."
The board members were stunned, not understanding what Sadie meant.
"I get it," Declan pointed at Sadie, excitedly saying, "She must have bribed Dahlia, she must have."
"No way. Dahlia works for Mr. Clemens," a young executive whispered. "She's close to Rylan and Andrew, who are both Mr. Clemens' trusted aides."
"Maybe she threatened her somehow. Either way, Dahlia must be on her side now, that's why she's so fearless," Declan speculated.
"It's not impossible," others began to waver. "People can be unpredictable, who knows."
"Let's switch hospitals. Call someone from Peace Hospital," an older board member suggested. "Peace Hospital was founded by Mr. Raymond Clemens, and it's staffed with his people. There shouldn't be any issues."
"Alright, alright, I have contacts at the hospital. I'll call them."
"Hurry up."
Suddenly, everyone sprang into action.
Some called Peace Hospital, others notified security to stop Dahlia from coming up, and some even wanted to involve the police.
In no time, these board members turned into righteous defenders, all eager to protect Micah and drive out the villainous Sadie, upholding justice for the Clemens Group.
Sadie, however, remained unruffled, indifferent to their actions.
"Micah," on the other hand, grew more anxious. "Don't call any doctors, we don't need any doctors. I'm really not sick."
Seeing his reaction, everyone was confused, unsure of what was going on.
"It's better to get checked, just to be safe," Sadie looked at him gently. "Otherwise, everyone will think I poisoned you to control you, and I won't be able to clear my name!"
"Micah" was in a tough spot.
Not only would he have to endure needles and blood tests, but once the results came out, he wouldn't have a chance to refute them.
"Mr. Clemens, it's best to get checked," Ryan, who had been silent for a while, finally spoke up. "If there's nothing wrong, consider it a routine check-up, no harm done!"
Ryan had been observing the situation.
He noticed that this "Micah" was acting strangely, and today's events seemed premeditated. The behavior of this "Micah" seemed contradictory.
Ryan knew very well that the real Micah had indeed been poisoned and was seriously ill.
If "Micah" refused the check-up to hide his illness, it made some sense, but his reaction was still odd. Overall, something was off.
So Ryan suggested the check-up.
"Yes, yes, Ryan is right. Let's do the check-up."
Several other board members chimed in.
"Of course, Mr. Clemens, your health status won't be made public. Regardless of the results, we won't disclose them. I suggest that I, Silas, Declan, Stanley, and Cameron oversee this."
Ryan proposed a solution.
