Chapter 1665 Resist to the Death
With a deafening crash, the semi-truck slammed into them.
Sadie's car flipped several times, smashing through the guardrail of the overpass. Most of the car hung precariously over the edge, ready to fall at any moment.
The airbags deployed.
Sadie's head hit the windshield, and blood poured from the wound. She clutched her injury with one hand and pushed Aurora with the other. "Aurora, Aurora."
Aurora was unresponsive, her face covered in blood, slumped over the steering wheel, unconscious.
Sadie unbuckled her seatbelt, intending to get out, but realized the car was teetering on the edge of the overpass. Any slight movement would cause it to lose balance and sway dangerously.
She pulled Aurora back, leaning her against the seat to stabilize the car's balance, then carefully crawled out through the window.
As soon as she landed, the car began to slip. Sadie quickly grabbed the door, bracing her foot against the guardrail to prevent the car from falling.
Using all her strength, she gritted her teeth and shouted urgently, "Aurora, Aurora, wake up, wake up!"
Sadie couldn't free her hands to rescue Aurora. Aurora had to wake up and climb out through the window herself, or she would be doomed if the car fell.
"Ms. James."
Aurora finally began to regain consciousness, turning her head weakly to look at Sadie.
"Aurora, get out, now!"
Sadie urged frantically, her hands trembling from the effort.
Aurora, using the last of her strength, unbuckled her seatbelt and tried to climb out, but her door was jammed from the crash and wouldn't budge.
"Climb out through the window!"
Sadie shouted.
Aurora used her elbow to knock out the remaining glass and struggled to climb out.
At that moment, several tall men in black suits approached Sadie menacingly.
"Did Nicholas send you?"
Sadie faced a dire choice: let go and fight these men, risking Aurora's life, or hold on and risk both of their lives.
"Ms. James, leave me, go!" Aurora shouted weakly.
Sadie clung to the car door, refusing to let go. Aurora had been through thick and thin with her; she couldn't abandon her now.
The men in black lunged at Sadie.
She kicked one of them to the ground.
The others closed in, and Sadie quickly became overwhelmed.
They pried at her hands, trying to drag her away, but Sadie held onto the car door with all her might.
"Ms. James," Aurora cried desperately, "let go, let go!"
"Get out!" Sadie continued to struggle, determined to save her.
But the men in black didn't give her a chance, kicking her hands repeatedly, forcing her to let go.
Just as Sadie was about to lose her grip, a car sped towards them.
Rylan and his team jumped out, quickly engaging the men in black and rescuing Aurora and Sadie.
"Ms. James, are you okay?" Rylan helped Sadie up.
"Why are you here? Didn't you go to save Noah?"
Seeing Rylan, Sadie's first thought was that it might have delayed Noah's rescue.
"I sent Rodolfo and the others. I couldn't reach you and was worried, so I brought a couple of people to find you."
Rylan supported Sadie towards the car.
At that moment, hundreds of armed assassins poured out of the semi-truck, charging at them.
"Get Ms. James out of here."
Rylan quickly handed Sadie to his subordinates and moved to confront the attackers.
"Rylan!" Sadie called out, but Rylan was quickly swallowed by the crowd. No matter how skilled he was, he couldn't take on all of them alone.
