Chapter 1605 Improvement

"Mom's pills?" Sadie was shocked. "Oh my God, Donna, you can't just hand out medicine like that."

She quickly sent someone to fetch Gabriella, worried that something might happen to Mary.

After all, Donna was only a little over two years old, and no one knew what the pill was for. If Mary took the wrong medicine, it could be serious.

Gabriella had already gone to bed, but when she heard that Donna had given Mary an unknown pill, she rushed over, grumbling in Sunvale language, "How can so many of you not keep an eye on one child?"

"I'm so sorry, Gabriella, for waking you up so late," Sadie apologized repeatedly. "It was our oversight. I've already contacted the hospital, and we'll take Mary there first thing in the morning. But can you check on her now? I'm really worried."

Gabriella had no choice but to examine Mary.

It was already 2 AM. Donna yawned and rubbed her eyes, looking exhausted. Annika, feeling sorry for her, took her back to her room to sleep.

Even though they thought Donna had caused a big problem, they knew she meant well and was worried about her sister.

As they went upstairs, Annika comforted Donna, "Auntie didn't mean to scold you. She was just worried about Mary, so she sounded a bit harsh. Don't be upset, Donna."

"I understand."

After examining Mary, Gabriella was astonished. "It's strange, but Mary's fever has gone down, and she seems to be getting better."

Sadie was stunned. "Really??"

"I'll do a blood test," Gabriella said quickly, taking a sample from Mary. "We'll know soon."

"Okay." Sadie didn't dare go to sleep and waited in the room.

Half an hour later, Gabriella came back with the test results, looking excited. "There's a change in her blood. The indicators have improved a bit, but it's a positive sign."

"That's fantastic!" Sadie was overjoyed. "It looks like the pill worked after all."

"Yes, indeed," Gabriella agreed, smiling. "You should find out what pill Donna gave Mary. Is there any more of it?"

"Right, I'll go ask her now." Sadie hurried to Donna's room.

Annika had just finished giving Donna a bath and was tucking her into bed.

Donna rubbed her eyes, looking sleepy.

"Donna," Sadie said, rushing in and taking her little hand. "Do you know? The pill you gave Mary worked. Her fever is gone, and her blood indicators are improving. You saved Mary. You're amazing!"

"Really?" Donna was thrilled. She knew her mom's treatment had worked.

"Do you have any more of those pills?" Sadie asked urgently. "One dose might not be enough. She might need more."

"No, that's all," Donna shook her head. "But I think Mary will get better. She might not even need to go to the hospital."

"No more?" Sadie felt a bit disappointed. "Do you know what kind of pill it was? Or did it have any packaging?"

"No," Donna shook her head again. "Mom made it herself. It didn't have any packaging or a name."

"Alright." Sadie felt her heart sink. "You get some rest now. I won't bother you anymore."

"Okay, goodnight, Auntie," Donna said sweetly, waving at her.

As Sadie was about to leave, she noticed a leaf with some dirt on the windowsill. She paused, walked over to close the window, and saw that a branch of the osmanthus tree outside was bent out of shape.

Realizing something, she turned back to Donna. "Donna, where did you get that pill?"

"Mom left it for me. I always keep it in my backpack."

Donna mumbled sleepily, hugging her little pillow and drifting off to sleep.
