Chapter 1617 Not Taking the Bait

Sadie was taken aback. "But the address..."

"I'll tell you later," Alan said urgently, pushing Sadie towards the door. "You gotta leave now, or it'll be trouble if they see you."

"What kind of trouble?" Sadie knew what he was afraid of and decided not to leave. "Worst case, we'll go down fighting!"

"Sadie."

"Give me the address, and I'll go," Sadie said, plopping down on the couch. "Otherwise, I'm not leaving."

Alan was furious. "If I mess this up, you'll be in trouble too. Think about it. If Nicholas sees you here, won't he immediately order Noah and Nathan to be killed?"

Sadie's face changed at that, but she quickly regained her composure. "He wouldn't dare. If he kills Noah and Nathan now, he loses his leverage."

"He could kill one and keep the other," Alan said with a cold smile. "Even with just one, you'd still be under his control."

Sadie had no response to that and reluctantly got up to leave.

"Hurry!" Alan escorted her to the door, but just as he reached for the handle, they heard the urgent voice of a bodyguard outside. "Mr. Graham, you can't go in, Mr. Graham."

Alan's face turned pale. He quickly pulled Sadie back and whispered, "Hide in the bathroom, now!"

Sadie shot him a look of disgust but had no choice and hid in the bathroom.

Alan hurriedly changed his clothes, and just as he finished, the door was kicked open.

Alan was startled but quickly put on a smile. "Mr. Graham, what brings you here?"

"What? You don't want me here?"

Nicholas walked into the room, his sharp eyes scanning the surroundings.

In the bathroom, Sadie pressed her ear to the door, eavesdropping.

This was her first time being so close to Nicholas, but she couldn't see him through the door.

However, his voice was commanding and his English impeccable.

"Of course not," Alan said with a smile, then added, "Ms. Graham is here too!"

Sadie was slightly taken aback. Ms. Graham? Olivia? Or...

"Mr. Clemens, long time no see."

A familiar voice, still as gentle and elegant as ever.

It was Olivia.

Sadie in the bathroom was surprised. She remembered Olivia had called her not long ago, and now she was here with Nicholas to see "Micah."

"Yes, we haven't seen each other since that time at the hospital," Alan said, his voice noticeably controlled, sounding very much like Micah.

"How's your health?" Olivia asked with concern.

"Much better," Alan replied politely. "Thank you for asking, Ms. Graham."

"We're old friends, no need to be so formal," Olivia said gently, but with a hint of probing.

"But Mr. Clemens, you seem much better now than before the fire. You were very ill then, but now you seem fully recovered?"

"Not completely recovered, still undergoing treatment," Alan deflected. "But definitely better than before."

"That's good to hear," Olivia nodded, smiling. "When we danced the tango at the Horseshoe Bay Hotel, you didn't seem well."

Sadie realized Olivia was testing Alan because she had danced a waltz with Micah at the Horseshoe Bay Hotel, not a tango.

"Ms. Graham, you must be mistaken," Alan was prepared and didn't fall for it. "We danced a waltz that time."

Olivia was clearly surprised.

"Thanks to you for helping me stage that scene and catching the culprit who hit me with the vase," Alan said, showing he knew all the details and wasn't falling into any traps.
