Chapter 1567 Emotionless People
"What do we do now?" Annika was frantic. "We need to get the media involved and try to control the situation."
"It's pointless. Did you forget the Graham family owns the media?" Sadie sneered. "That's how they manipulate public opinion so easily."
Annika was speechless.
"Even if we bribe the media to speak for us, it would be a waste of money. With my current resources, there's no way I can fight them."
"So what do we do?" Annika asked again.
She used to be able to solve Sadie's problems, but now her mind was blank.
Sadie had grown a lot through this ordeal, showing intelligence and capability, but she still couldn't outmaneuver those people.
After all, she was alone and without support.
"I don't know what to do either," Sadie said, rubbing her forehead. "We wait. Just wait a little longer."
Annika looked at Sadie with concern, unsure how to comfort her or what she was waiting for.
All she could do was stay by her side.
That night, Sadie stayed at the hospital with Mary, occasionally asking Rylan for updates on Noah and Nathan.
Annika urged her to get some sleep, but Sadie couldn't.
Despite being exhausted, she couldn't close her eyes or fall asleep. That feeling was the worst.
At four in the morning, Annika couldn't fight the fatigue any longer and fell asleep in a chair.
Sadie stood by the window, gazing at the moon, silently pleading, "Micah, where are you? Where are you? I can't hold on much longer. Please come back."
Meanwhile, at Half Mountain Villa, in the backyard cottage, a large black pot was simmering medicine.
The petite Riley was administering acupuncture to Micah on the wooden bed.
Today marked the 14th day she had used all her knowledge to try to save him, but Micah remained unresponsive, though he hadn't died either.
It was baffling.
Riley decided to try a different approach today.
If it didn't work, she would hand him over to Sadie to deal with.
He might be a lost cause, a vegetable.
It was frustrating, interfering with her search for her children.
She glanced at the photo frame on the table, which she had found at the Clemens Villa.
It was a wedding photo of Micah and Sadie with the six children in the forest.
Riley thought Micah and Sadie were distracting her from her children, so she covered their heads with leaves in the photo.
Now, when she looked at it, she only saw her kids. So cute!
'Focus, Riley. You're treating a patient.'
She turned her attention back to Micah, continuing the acupuncture.
Soon, his head looked like a porcupine, but he still showed no response.
Riley was growing impatient and muttered coldly, "Hey, if you don't react soon, I'm going to throw you out to feed the wolves!"
The person on the bed remained motionless.
"You're just like Tristan, both of you are emotionless."
Riley's face was full of disdain, and she jabbed the needles harder.
"If you can't be cured, you should just die already. You can't wake up, and you won't die, just dragging me along."
"If I had nothing else to do, I could study you like a mummy, but I'm really busy right now, you know?"
"I need to find my children. I haven't seen them in so long."
"Tristan, that jerk, kept me locked up, not letting me out. I injured his men, smashed his car, and escaped through the window to find my kids."
"Now his people are searching for me everywhere. If they catch me, I'll have to fight Tristan again."
"Oh, and recently, some other idiots have been looking for me too. They must be your enemies."
"They shoot to kill every time, which pisses me off. If it weren't for you, I'd have dealt with them already."
