Chapter 34 She Can't Be Expelled
"Does he have to be seriously injured for it to count as a fight?" Leah shouted angrily.
Feeling a surge of anger, Sadie stood up defiantly, her eyes unwavering. "Since you put it that way, let's check the surveillance footage. The classroom has comprehensive monitoring, and the truth will be clear!" she demanded.
Todd shifted awkwardly, clearly troubled. "Well, checking the footage takes time. Let's calm down first and see if we can mediate."
"Calm down?" Sadie sneered, her tone as unyielding as steel. "You haven't even looked at the footage. How can you conclude that my kids were the ones hitting and smashing things? You made them stand as punishment without any evidence. Is it because Billy has a privileged status? Is this kindergarten only for the elite?"
"Ms. Roth, that's going too far," Todd's voice was cold as he tried to maintain an air of authority. "If you think our kindergarten is not good enough, you can choose to withdraw."
"Exactly," Leah seized the opportunity to mock, a sarcastic smile spreading across her lips. "Considering we're relatives, I won't pursue the matter further if your kids withdraw. I'll just consider the $20,000 compensation as my charity."
Sadie's anger flared up again, and she stood her ground. "You want my kids to withdraw? I think the one who should leave is your son! Since you're being so aggressive, let's settle this properly! Billy smeared paint on Mia's hair. How do you plan to compensate for that?"
"Which eye of yours saw Billy smearing paint on Mia's hair?" Leah stood up angrily, her face flushed, her fury barely contained.
Sadie's gaze was sharp as a knife, slicing through the tension in the room as she stared directly at Billy. She said, "Why don't you ask Billy? What exactly did he do?"
Billy, who had been holding his head high with arrogance, felt a shiver under Sadie's piercing gaze and grew timid. He stammered, "I... I didn't."
"Did you hear that? Billy said he didn't!" Leah hugged Billy tightly, her voice aggressive.
At that moment, the office door opened, and Brenda walked in with Mia. Mia immediately ran into Sadie's arms, tears welling up in her eyes, her voice choked with sobs. "Mommy, Billy smeared paint on my hair. Brenda washed it for a long time, but it didn't come off. Do I have to cut my hair?"
Sadie's heart ached as she hugged Mia tightly, comforting her. "Mia, don't cry. I will help you wash it off. You won't have to cut your hair!"
Seeing Mia's aggrieved expression, Sadie's anger reignited. She turned to Billy and questioned, "How could you treat a little girl like this? You're way out of line!"
A trace of panic flashed across Billy's face. He wanted to explain but was interrupted by Leah. "Billy, shut up!" Her voice was as cold as a blade cutting through the air.
Sarah cautiously stepped forward, her voice trembling. She interjected, "Actually, I asked other classmates, and they all confirmed that Billy was the one who smeared paint on Mia's hair first. But Billy didn't do it on purpose. He just wanted to play with Mia, and when Mia ignored him, he used this way to get her attention."
"Shut up!" Todd suddenly interrupted Sarah, his face dark and his tone threatening. "Mr. Potter is a board member of our school. If we anger him, our school won't be able to continue."
Leah sneered coldly, her gaze razor-sharp. "You understand. Only one of our kids can stay here. It's either hers or mine. You decide!"
A trace of hesitation flashed across Todd's face. He comprehended Leah's threat but couldn't directly oppose it. Lowering his head, he said in a deep voice, "Ms. Roth, how about this? I can refund your tuition so you can find another kindergarten for your kids."
Sadie was burning with anger, feeling cornered. "Mr. Bailey, this is unfair—"
Before she could finish, Billy suddenly rushed to Todd, shouting excitedly, "Mia can't leave!" His voice was like thunder, interrupting all arguments and leaving everyone in the room stunned.
