Chapter 1572 Summon Wild Animals
That warning was dead on.
The media folks turned white as sheets, freaking out about how dangerous Frost Peak Mountain was.
The roads were treacherous, and there were always reckless drivers around.
For safety's sake, they decided it was best to stay off the mountain.
As they were talking, the forest echoed with the roars of wild beasts, and a few wild eagles circled overhead.
Terrified, they scrambled into their cars and sped off.
"What a bunch of cowards, so annoying," Annika muttered as she drove.
Sadie, however, was staring out the window at the horizon, watching the circling eagles.
She asked, puzzled, "Did you hear something just now?"
"I thought I heard some animal noises," Annika replied, not really paying attention. "It happens sometimes, but today they were probably spooked by those people, so they all came out."
Sadie didn't respond, just lowered her eyes thoughtfully.
After a while, she picked up her phone and called Jesse to check on Micah's situation.
"We had some leads yesterday, but now they've gone cold again," Jesse's voice sounded frustrated. "It's so unlucky. I've never been this stumped in all these years."
"Riley is really something. With so many people tracking her, she managed to slip away unnoticed with an unconscious man. I'm truly impressed!"
"I've heard Terry say before that Riley is a genius, one of the most untouchable people in the world, aside from Mr. James. Now I see why!"
Sadie rarely heard Jesse speak so much at once, especially with such emotion.
It was the first time she saw him admire someone so much.
"A few of my men were knocked out by her and still haven't woken up," Jesse continued to complain.
"Of course, The Graham Family is in worse shape. The people they sent to track Riley almost all came back in bad condition. They must be scared now; things have quieted down a lot today."
"Where are you now?" Sadie asked.
"Following the previous leads, we tracked to Mystic Ocean. We're searching each abandoned warehouse," Jesse replied.
"Ms. James, how are things on your end? Do you need more people? Should I send some back?"
"No need, you don't have to search anymore," Sadie decided firmly. "Send the injured for treatment and have the rest meet me at Hillside Villa."
"What? Stop searching?" Jesse was a bit surprised. "Even though The Graham Family has slacked off today, it doesn't mean they'll give up looking for Mr. Clemens. If they find him first, Mr. Clemens and Riley will be in danger."
"I know what I'm doing," Sadie responded calmly. "You all have been working hard for two days. Take a break and come meet me."
"Alright," Jesse saw Sadie was determined and didn't ask further, immediately going to make arrangements.
"Ms. James, why did you suddenly decide to stop searching?" Annika asked, confused.
"I suspect Riley is at Half Mountain Villa," Sadie said, squinting at the eagles flying farther away. "Maybe she's hiding somewhere inconspicuous, secretly treating Micah."
"What?" Annika's eyes widened in shock. "Why did you suddenly think that? You didn't before."
"The only people who can summon wild animals are Tristan and Riley," Sadie smiled. "She was probably annoyed by those reporters and summoned the animals to scare them off the mountain."
"I see," Annika realized.
At that moment, in the backyard of Half Mountain Villa.
Riley squinted at the sky and whistled at the eagles. They flew away, no longer approaching Half Mountain Villa.
