Chapter 1636 Cunning Person

"Contract?" Alan leaned in, eyes wide. "What contract?"

Rodolfo and the others quickly stepped in, blocking Alan from getting any closer to Sadie.

Anthony and the VIC Group's legal team huddled around the two contracts.

After a few moments, they announced excitedly, "These are legit. They've got Mr. Clemens' handwritten signature and his fingerprint."

"According to the agreement, starting from XXXX year X month X day, Mr. Clemens has to give half of all his income to Sadie."

"What?"

Before Anthony could finish, Alan shot up from his chair, clearly agitated. "Are you kidding me? These could be fakes. I didn't write this."

"Of course you didn't," Sadie shot back, her eyes cold. "You're not Micah. You're Alan!"

"You're nuts," Alan fumed. "Keep this up, and I'll sue you for defamation."

"The group has Micah's old signatures and fingerprints, right? You can verify them," Sadie said loudly.

"And remember, Micah used to get annual physicals. His blood sample data should be on file."

She pointed to the debt contract Micah had signed. "The fingerprint on this was made with his own blood. You can extract the sample for comparison."

Dahlia's eyes lit up. "That's right. The hospital has Mr. Clemens' blood samples. I can do a medical comparison right away."

"You've already betrayed me and sided with Sadie. Can we still trust you?" Alan argued. "Everyone, Sadie has bribed my subordinates and is now turning Ryan and Silas against me. Don't believe her."

The board members murmured among themselves, clearly confused and unsure whom to trust.

Logically, Sadie had the upper hand, but emotionally, they couldn't believe Micah would betray the group's interests. The person in front of them looked just like Micah.

If it was plastic surgery, that would be too far-fetched and dramatic.

They were at a loss for what to do.

"Rumor has it the Clemens Group is a major corporation, but I didn't expect them to be so careless."

Nicholas spoke up softly, "With assets this large, can half really be divided based on just two pieces of paper? If that's the case, can I forge one now and take half too?"

Sadie was furious, gritting her teeth.

"Nowadays, not just signatures and fingerprints, even people can be cloned and forged," Nicholas sneered. "Taking half the assets with two pieces of paper is utterly ridiculous."

"That seems to make sense," the board members began to waver.

Declan looked around, unsure whom to support.

"I brought in capital to invest, and you still call me an outsider, not letting me join the board. But what about her? Isn't she an outsider too?"

Nicholas pointed at Sadie. "Her children aren't Micah's, and the James Family is the Clemens Family's arch-enemy. If she takes half the assets and drains the Clemens Group, how does that benefit you?"

Suddenly, everyone was stunned, and some began to realize the truth.

"It seems reasonable. Nicholas joining the board means sharing profits, but at least he brought in capital. Sadie, on the other hand, wants to take half the assets without bringing anything. Comparatively, Sadie seems more ruthless."

"I don't need to take this money," Sadie quickly clarified. "The money Micah gives me, I'll convert into shares and continue investing in the Clemens Group. That way, I'll be one of the Clemens Group's shareholders."

"See that?" Nicholas sneered mockingly. "This is her wolfish ambition. Ultimately, it's the same as her initial intention—to seize the Clemens Group's assets and completely control the Clemens Group."

Sadie couldn't outtalk Nicholas. This cunning man was skilled at manipulating people's hearts and controlling the situation.
