Chapter 1621 Taken Away
"But that's clearly an impostor!" Sadie exclaimed, her voice trembling with urgency. "You can still stop this!"
"Mind your own business!"
Nicholas shot her a cold glance and gestured to his men, who promptly shut the door.
Sadie, remembering how Olivia had once helped her, tried to rush to the adjacent room to intervene but was blocked by a scar-faced man. "If you keep causing trouble, I won't be so nice."
"You all..."
Sadie began, but was interrupted by the sound of indulgent laughter coming from the room.
Her heart sank, and her face turned pale.
She knew it was too late.
"Get out," the scar-faced man ordered, shoving her into the elevator.
Sadie wanted to resist, but the Graham Family's bodyguards were already stationed outside the door.
She knew there was nothing she could do.
Emerging from the elevator and getting into the car, Sadie felt disoriented and lost.
Even though she hadn't done anything, she was overwhelmed by a sense of guilt.
She couldn't shake the feeling that she bore some responsibility for Olivia being deceived.
"Ms. James."
A familiar voice suddenly called out.
Sadie looked up to see Annika, accompanied by others, anxiously knocking on her car window.
Sadie quickly unlocked the door and let Annika in.
"Are you okay? We couldn't reach you on the phone and were worried sick," Annika asked, her voice filled with concern.
"I'm fine," Sadie replied, frowning. "Let's head back."
"Alright." Annika started the car, instructing Jessica and Aurora to follow in another vehicle.
The group swiftly left the hotel.
On the way, Sadie asked, "Did you tell Tristan about my situation?"
"Mr. James happened to ask, so I told him," Annika admitted, looking uneasy.
"Ms. James, you won't blame me, will you? I just thought the situation was too much for you to handle alone."
"I didn't want to trouble Tristan," Sadie frowned. "But since it's already done, let's leave it at that."
"Are you sure you're okay? What happened back there? You scared me," Annika pressed, her worry evident. "I disguised myself as a cleaner and found Alan's room. There were strange noises coming from inside, and I thought..."
"It wasn't me, it was Olivia," Sadie explained, giving a brief rundown of the events.
"No way!" Annika was stunned. "Oh my God, are you saying Ms. Graham... with Alan? OMG!"
"I feel so guilty. I wanted to stop it," Sadie said, her voice heavy with remorse.
"But I was knocked out when I came out of the bathroom. If I hadn't taken the medicine Paula gave me beforehand, I wouldn't have woken up so quickly."
"That was close," Annika said, her skin crawling at the thought. "But you're okay now, right?"
"I'm fine, just a close call," Sadie sighed. "But Olivia..."
"That's not your fault," Annika frowned. "Think about it, you drank the same wine and nothing happened to you. That means there was no drug in the wine. If she drank it and acted that way, it's her own issue."
"Maybe Nicholas drugged her when he arrived?" Sadie speculated. "Even if there was no drug, she was deceived. She thought that was the real Micah."
"She has her own problems," Annika said firmly. "She knows Mr. Clemens loves you, so why does she keep entangling herself with him? She threw herself at the wrong person, and now she's paying the price."
Sadie found herself at a loss for words.
"Besides, you did everything you could to stop it. Her father insisted on sending her to Alan's bed. You've done your best; this isn't your fault. Stop blaming yourself."
Annika continued to console her, "Let's focus on ourselves now."
"I..."
Sadie began, but her phone buzzed.
It was Jesse calling. She quickly answered.
"We found him," Jesse's urgent voice came through. "Nathan's been rescued, but Noah was taken by their men."
