Chapter 1629 Envelope
Micah was struggling, while on the other side, Sadie was glued to the news online.
Initially, the public opinion was in their favor, but an hour ago, posts questioning Alan's identity started getting deleted almost immediately.
Soon, most of those posts were gone.
Annika sighed, "The Graham Family really knows how to control the media. They managed to steer the narrative so quickly."
"That's just one reason," Sadie frowned. "I noticed the source of the posts has stopped, which means it's not Tristan. He never leaves things unfinished."
"Not Mr. James? Then who?" Annika asked, curious.
"I don't know, maybe Ryan or Silas found someone," Sadie speculated. "But the other side might be limited in power or threatened by The Graham Family."
"What should we do? Should we take action?" Annika asked urgently.
"With Noah in their hands, I can't do anything," Sadie continued to scroll through her emails, her brow furrowed. "I hope Jesse Rylan can rescue Noah soon. I suspect The Graham Family might act ahead of schedule."
Just then, her phone rang. It was Ryan, sounding very agitated.
"I got a call early this morning to attend a board meeting. I thought the situation had changed, but I just found out Mr. Clemens wants Nicholas to join the board!"
"What?" Sadie widened her eyes in shock.
She had anticipated The Graham Family would act quickly, but she didn't expect them to move this fast, directly placing Nicholas on the Clemens Group's board.
"If Nicholas joins the board, the Clemens Group will practically belong to the Grahams," Ryan said excitedly. "I've been trying to reach Silas, but I can't get through. Sadie, you need to think of something."
"I'll think, I'll think," Sadie said, covering her forehead, feeling very anxious. "What time is the board meeting?"
"Three in the afternoon," Ryan said hurriedly. "It's already two, we have one hour."
"Ryan, I'll hang up now and get back to you soon."
"Okay, I'll wait for your update!" Ryan said, holding onto a sliver of hope. "Sadie, you're the Clemens Group's last hope."
This statement put a lot of pressure on Sadie, but she had to take on this responsibility.
"I understand."
After hanging up, Sadie felt lost. She had no plan and didn't know what to do.
"Should we call Mr. James?" Annika suggested tentatively.
"These issues aren't Tristan's expertise. If he could help, he would have contacted me already," Sadie said helplessly.
"Last night, when I was in danger, Tristan intervened because he could overpower Nicholas physically. But in business, it's about strategy, and he doesn't have the leverage to intervene."
"What should we do then?" Annika was anxious.
Sadie rummaged through the bookshelf, her mind racing for a solution. Suddenly, she remembered something.
Rebecca had given her a box, stressing that it contained something important.
She mentioned that Micah had instructed her to give it to Sadie before he got into trouble.
Thinking back, Rebecca's last conversation was full of hints. Could there be something in the box that could help?
Sadie quickly asked Annika to bring the box.
She emptied its contents onto the desk and started searching through them.
Among Edmond and Brenda's belongings, there were property deeds for two villas, a ruby necklace, and a small, inconspicuous envelope.
Sadie opened the envelope and was stunned by what she saw.
