Chapter 1612 Desire to Survive

"Are you saying my questions are pointless?"

Riley's reaction was instant; her eyes narrowing with a menacing glare.

"No, every word you say is gold," Micah quickly responded, his survival instincts kicking in. He could only move his head and neck, and his life depended entirely on Riley's mood.

How could he dare to offend her?

"Smart move!"

Riley shot him a look before starting to fish out pieces of wild chicken from the pot to eat. She had even made herself a spicy dipping sauce, and the taste was fantastic.

"Aren't we supposed to be discussing treatment? Why are you eating now?" Micah frowned at her. Riley's thoughts jumped around so quickly; she had been mourning just a moment ago, and now she was eating meat.

"You need to be full to have the energy to treat someone," Riley said, munching on the meat while crushing an apple with her bare hands. She let the juice drip into a cup, and once it was full, she began to enjoy it, alternating between bites of meat and sips of juice.

She occasionally tossed pieces of meat and bones to an old, limping wolf nearby. As for the bald eagle and the python on the roof outside, they could fend for themselves.

Seeing her eat so heartily made Micah hungry, too. "What about mine?" he asked.

"You can't move right now, so you can only have liquids," Sadie said, pushing a cup of juice towards him.

"This is my food?" Micah looked at the cup of apple juice with some pulp still in it and frowned. "I feel like I'm skin and bones already. I should eat something."

"If you eat, you'll need to go to the bathroom. Who's going to clean up after you?" Riley snapped. "Until you can take care of yourself, this is all you get."

Micah was stunned. "But I'll starve!"

"As long as you don't die," Riley said, continuing to enjoy her meat.

"Your service is terrible. I think I deserve a discount on the medical bill," Micah grumbled.

"Discount?"

At the mention of money, Riley's eyes turned icy. She pulled out a large, chipped cleaver and casually threw it. The cleaver embedded itself in the wooden board next to Micah's neck, the blade just an inch away from his throat.

Micah's eyes widened in shock, and he didn't dare to breathe.

Riley pulled out a greasy notebook from her pocket, walked over to Micah, and opened it in front of him, jabbing her finger at the entries.

"Look closely. These are all the medical expenses you owe me, and you've signed off on every one of them. If you dare to deny it, I'll chop you up right now!"

Micah squinted at the notebook, and his eyes widened in disbelief. "What? Eight hundred million dollars? You must be joking!"

"Joking? These are just the initial costs. I haven't even added the past few days' expenses."

With that, Riley pulled out a pen and started jotting down more charges, muttering as she wrote, "And don't forget the emotional distress fee, security fee, life-threatening risk fee, and the help fee. All in all, it'll cost you half your fortune!"

Micah nearly choked. "I've never heard of medical treatment costing half a fortune. That's outrageous!"

"What, you don't want to pay?" Riley's lips curled into a wicked smile. "That's fine. My old wolf here hasn't had enough to eat yet."

At those words, the limping wolf's eyes lit up, and it leisurely walked over.

"Fine, fine," Micah quickly conceded. Right now, nothing was more important than staying alive.

"That's more like it," Riley said with a satisfied grin. "Alright, I'm going out to find you a computer and a phone. Drink your juice obediently, or if you starve to death, who am I going to collect money from?"

Blimey, My Kid's the Heir to the Billionaire Boss!
