Chapter 1637 A Sure Thing
"Exactly, exactly," Alan quickly chimed in. "Don't fall for her tricks. Her kids aren't mine. I kicked her out of the company, and now she's holding a grudge, bribing my people to get her hands on Clemens Group's assets."
"Alan, you're a real piece of work," Annika snapped.
"Shut up!" Alan shot back, full of himself.
"Since everyone's doubting this agreement, let's get it verified," Sadie said, already prepared. "If you don't trust Dahlia, then let's have the doctors from Evergreen Heights Medical Center do the verification."
"Evergreen Heights Medical Center's been bought off by you guys," Alan blurted out. "Silas is on your side now; he must've taken benefits from the James Group."
"Just shut up."
Nicholas glared at him, frustrated. 'This guy is really dumb,' he thought.
How could he question Silas right now? Half of the board members were brought in by Raymond, and they trust Silas completely.
The more Alan questioned Silas, the more he pushed supporters away.
And Alan still looked clueless, not understanding the situation.
"This agreement is legit," Anthony picked up the document and showed it to everyone.
"This debt agreement was written by Mr. Clemens to Ms. James two and a half years ago. And this supplementary agreement was given to me by Mr. Clemens before his accident."
"I, along with eight lawyers from VIC Group, witnessed Mr. Clemens personally write this supplementary agreement. He even had it notarized at the time, so this agreement is absolutely authentic!"
Anthony added, "The four notary officials are right outside. If you need, we can bring them in now."
Hearing this, Alan was stunned.
Though he wasn't skilled in corporate battles, he knew that having eight lawyers and four notaries witness the agreement made it indisputable!
Even if the sky were to fall or the earth were to explode, these two agreements would still be real.
Nicholas's face darkened instantly, his eyes filled with rage. He glared at Sadie with hatred before turning to leave.
"Mr. Graham, Mr. Graham," Alan panicked and hurried after him, whispering, "What do I do if you leave?"
"Micah, he's really something!" Nicholas muttered through gritted teeth. "I can't believe he had a hidden card even after he's gone!"
"Is there no way to salvage this?" Alan was desperate. "What about me?"
"It's a done deal," Nicholas spat out through clenched teeth. "Shut your mouth and say less!"
Alan wanted to say more, but Nicholas had already stormed off.
Alan furrowed his brows, feeling lost. He kept pondering Nicholas's words, realizing that the situation was irreversible.
According to the law, Sadie would take a portion of the assets, and he couldn't do anything about it.
But fortunately, Clemens Group had a century-old foundation. Even if Sadie took Micah's two and a half years of earnings, it shouldn't be too much.
Holding onto this slim hope, he reluctantly returned to the conference room, clutching his forehead in a pained expression.
"After being sick, I really don't remember anything."
Now that the agreement was confirmed to be real, he couldn't deny it, so he had to claim he didn't remember.
"Maybe I was blind and foolish at that time," Alan said angrily. "To make such a stupid decision."
"So, you're not questioning these two agreements anymore?" Anthony asked tentatively.
"Let's bring in the notary officials for verification," Silas said. "This is a serious matter. I ask everyone to stay patient today and let's settle the accounts together."
