Chapter 1599 Fever

"Ms. James."

Annika finally got a word in. Sadie had been so busy organizing the rescue that no one else had a chance to speak.

Now that the car was quiet, Annika couldn't hold back any longer. Tears streamed down her face as she cried uncontrollably, unsure of what to say.

Jessica and Aurora had been holding it in, but seeing Annika cry, they couldn't help it either and started crying too.

Sadie looked at their sorrowful faces and couldn't help but feel a bit amused.

She didn't explain or comfort them, just watched them cry.

After a while, Annika sensed something was off. Wiping her tears, she choked out, "Ms. James, are you... smiling?"

Jessica and Aurora looked at Sadie in shock, a bit panicked. "Oh no, Ms. James hasn't lost her mind from the stress, has she?"

"You guys are the ones losing it."

Sadie rolled her eyes at them and recounted the events of the previous night.

She concluded, "You really underestimated me. Do you think I can't handle someone like Alan?"

"You should have told us sooner! You scared us to death!" Annika was furious. "I was ready to kill Alan!"

"Yeah, I was ready to take that jerk down with me," Jessica added, equally indignant.

"Alright, alright," Sadie said with a smile. "I made the decision on the fly. I always carry Paula's medicine with me now. On the way to the Night Club, I figured Alan might try something, so I called Jonny to set things up."

"I didn't have time to discuss it with you, but I didn't expect you to show up. It actually worked out better. With you and Rylan there, it made everything more convincing. Alan won't suspect a thing."

"That's a relief," Annika said, patting her chest. "I was worried we might have messed up your plan."

"Anyway, we made some progress. Let's hope Jesse can find Noah and Nathan," Sadie sighed.

"Don't worry, Jesse's amazing. He'll find them," Annika reassured her.

Just then, Arya called, and Annika quickly answered.

"What? We'll be right back."

Hanging up, Annika turned to Sadie. "Ms. James, Mary has a high fever that won't go down. Gabriella says we need to get her to a hospital immediately."

"How could this happen?" Sadie was shocked. "When we brought her back, Dahlia said Mary's condition was stable."

"I don't know the details. Arya only gave me a brief update," Annika said, her expression serious. "Gabriella mentioned earlier that while she has medical skills, she's limited by the equipment we have here."

"I told you to try contacting hospitals, not just in Newark but in other cities too," Sadie said urgently. "What's the status?"

"I compiled a list and reached out to several major hospitals in nearby cities, but they all refused. I think The Graham Family has warned them off."

"Plus, with the news coverage, they probably don't want to cross the Clemens Family," Annika said, worried. "Ms. James, should we try contacting hospitals abroad? I can't believe The Graham Family's influence extends that far."

"That's our only option," Sadie nodded. "Step on it."

"Got it."

They quickly returned to Hillside Villa.

Sadie jumped out of the car and rushed to the medical room.

Mary's fever had spiked to 102 degrees Fahrenheit, her face flushed red.

Arya was by her side, looking after her with deep concern.

Gabriella saw Sadie and immediately said, "Ms. James, you need to find a solution fast. If we don't get Mary to a hospital soon, things could get serious. I can't take responsibility for this."
