Chapter 1649 The Scheme to Sow Discord

"You've already given yourself to him. If you don't marry him now, don't you think you're getting the short end of the stick?" Nicholas said coldly.

"Marry him, and you'll get my inheritance. If you don't, you'll have nothing. Think it over."

Nicholas glanced at his watch and raised his wrist. "You have two minutes to decide. If you still refuse, I'll call your sister over."

Olivia glared at Nicholas with intense hatred, her heart filled with loathing and resentment, but she said nothing.

She knew that nothing she said would change her father's decision. She also knew that Nicholas meant what he said.

If she refused to marry that impostor, she would truly have nothing.

If she had nothing, her chances of turning things around in the future would be even slimmer.

Once her sister took over, she would be quickly kicked out of the Graham family.

Forget about inheritance; she might not even be able to live a normal life.

"Ten seconds left," Nicholas began counting down. "Ten, nine, eight, seven..."

"No need to count," Olivia raised her head and looked at Nicholas. "I'll marry him."

"That's the spirit," Nicholas said with a satisfied smile, his tone softening from the previous harshness.

"Olivia, you know you're my favorite. I want you to be happy. Alan may be a loser, but he's easy to control."

"You like Micah, don't you? I've created a compliant version of Micah for you. Isn't that better? Once you're married, you'll be Mrs. Clemens. Sadie won't stand a chance against you."

"I'll pave the way for you. Manage the Graham family well, and one day you'll surpass the James family and the Clemens family, becoming the strongest business dynasty in Avaloria. That's my wish."

"I understand, Dad."

Olivia forced a smile, but inside she felt numb. Someone had once told her that Nicholas was ambitious and would stop at nothing to achieve his goals, but she hadn't believed it.

Now, she realized that person had seen everything clearly.

She remembered Sadie saying that Nicholas and Alan had conspired to seize the Clemens Group's assets and that the fire at Clemens Manor was their doing.

She hadn't believed it then either. Now, she knew it was all true.

But was Micah really dead?

Frost Peak Mountain, in the forest.

Micah was struggling to stretch his fingers, trying to reach his phone, but he kept failing.

Suddenly, he heard a car outside, followed by hurried footsteps. The cabin door was kicked open, and Riley burst in.

She was small but rough, always moving with urgency.

Riley threw a pile of medicine on the ground and didn't rush to deal with the prescriptions.

Instead, she walked over and kicked Micah, starting to gossip. "Guess who I saw at the clinic?"

Micah frowned, looking at her like she was an idiot. "Is this really the time for that? Shouldn't you clean up the prescriptions first? A million dollars, remember?"

"That can wait," Riley's gossiping heart was burning. "I saw someone who looks exactly like you."

"Alan?" Micah perked up. "Why was he at the clinic?"

"He was getting a blood test, checking if he was poisoned," Riley said excitedly. "I checked, and he wasn't poisoned, but I gave him a little something."

"What?" Micah understood immediately. "You poisoned him?"

"I had a green snake bite him. The poison will kick in tonight," Riley said with a wicked smile. "Happy now? I avenged you. Pay me more!"

"Hold on," Micah's mind raced as he analyzed. "He wasn't poisoned but suspected he was. Sadie must have used a trick to turn him against Nicholas. Your timing was perfect; you inadvertently did a good deed."
