Chapter 1622 Priority

Sadie froze, her voice shaking with urgency. "How could this happen? Why didn't they save both kids?"

"We followed the clues from the photos, but the kidnappers freaked out and took off with the kids."

"We chased them, but we had to be careful not to put the kids in more danger."

"Nathan jumped out of the car, and we managed to get him back, but Noah was taken," Jesse explained.

"Nathan jumped out of the car?" Sadie asked anxiously. "Is he okay?"

"He landed in some bushes and got a few scrapes, but he's fine," Jesse reassured her. "I'm having him escorted back now, and I'm going after Noah."

"I'll meet you there," Sadie said, hanging up the phone.

She turned to Annika, her voice filled with urgency. "Drive, Annika. We need to meet up with Jesse."

Annika tried to calm her. "Ms. James, don't worry. Rescuing one child is a good start. Jesse is still on their trail. I'm sure he'll get Noah back soon."

"You're right," Sadie said, trying to steady herself. "I was planning to go to Biston tomorrow to look for the kids, but Jesse found their hideout as soon as he got the lead."

"That means the clues were useful," Annika said.

"It means Jesse and his team were already close. The photos just sped things up," Sadie said, frowning.

"Nicholas is smart. He must have seen me at the hotel and realized Alan had leaked information, so he immediately had his men take Noah and Nathan away."

"That makes sense," Annika said, understanding dawning on her. "But how did he know Alan was meeting you at the hotel?"

"Alan's an idiot. He thought he could outsmart everyone, but Nicholas had him under surveillance the whole time," Sadie continued.

"He used to give us some useful information, but now that's over. Nicholas will keep a tight leash on him and push for his marriage to Olivia."

"Then he's useless to us now," Annika said with disdain. "He may look like Mr. Clemens, but his brain and soul are completely different. He's worthless."

"Tristan met with Nicholas tonight. Nicholas must be on high alert now. He'll want to wrap things up quickly to avoid any more complications," Sadie said, her anxiety growing.

"But with Noah in his hands, there's nothing I can do. The company can't intervene either. Are we just going to watch the Clemens Group fall into someone else's hands?"

"It's such a shame," Annika said, holding onto a sliver of hope. "Do you think Mr. James will step in?"

"Tristan's strength is in his leadership and combat skills, not business strategy. He's got his own problems to deal with."

"Even if he wanted to help, it would be difficult," Sadie sighed. "So, our priority is to rescue Noah."

"Let's focus on that," Annika agreed. "If only Andrew would wake up, he could help with the business side of things."

"What time is it?" Sadie checked her watch. It was 1:30 AM. "I wonder if Riley has arrived."

"Should I call and check?" Annika asked.

"Don't disturb her," Sadie said, frowning. "Try calling Arya."

"Okay," Annika said, dialing Arya's number. The phone rang and rang, but no one answered.

"She must be here," Sadie said, feeling a bit relieved.

Then she remembered something. "By the way, did Dr. Henry leave that prescription with Andrew?"
