Chapter 1582 Cold Brother
Now that Tristan's people were looking for her too, and they seemed really anxious. Terry didn't even have time to say a few words to Sadie, which made it clear that the situation was serious.
So, if they found Riley, would they take her straight back to Country E?
Would they stop her from treating Micah?
Thinking about this made Sadie even more worried.
She glanced back at the back door, the direction Riley had left, her brow furrowing tightly.
It wasn't just that she didn't have enough people around her right now; even if she did, she couldn't send them to fight Tristan for Riley.
And even if she tried, she wouldn't win.
Was she really just going to sit here and wait for things to fall apart?
No.
Sadie suddenly remembered what Donna had said.
It seemed she could only rely on those three kids now. Hopefully, they could lure Riley back before she got too far.
She just wasn't sure if Coco the eagle's wing had healed yet.
With that thought, Sadie hurried home.
Arya and the others were still waiting for her at the corner. When they saw her walking quickly towards them, they rushed to meet her. "Ms. James, are you alright?"
"Home, quickly," Sadie urged.
"Yes, Ms. James." Arya immediately started the car and drove back.
Once home, Sadie went straight to the yard to find Coco.
A maid was applying medicine to Coco's wing. Although it had been more than half a month and Coco's condition was stable, the wing hadn't fully healed.
Sadie felt a pang of guilt seeing Coco like this, but she still gently touched its wing and asked, "Coco, can you fly to the forest?"
Coco let out a couple of pitiful cries, flapping its wings and trying to take off.
Sadie watched with hopeful eyes, but Coco only made it to the treetop before it couldn't go any further. It struggled for a moment before plummeting down.
"Coco!" Sadie rushed to catch it.
Thankfully, Coco landed safely in Sadie's arms without getting hurt.
"I'm sorry, I won't push you anymore."
Sadie looked heartbroken. Coco had gotten injured saving Mia, and she couldn't bear to put it through more pain.
"Ms. James, the doctor said Coco's injury needs time to heal. It will take a while," the maid explained softly.
"I understand. Take good care of it."
Sadie handed Coco back to the maid and went inside.
With Coco out of commission, she had to talk to Tristan.
She hoped he would show some leniency and let Riley stay a bit longer, at least until Micah was healed.
Ideally, she could convince Riley to bring Micah back to Hillside Villa for treatment, so they wouldn't have to keep hiding.
Sadie went to her room, plugged in her phone, and called Tristan.
After being out of touch for so long, Tristan's phone finally connected.
It seemed the situation in Country E was changing, and Tristan was starting to fight back with confidence.
Just as the call was about to go to voicemail, someone picked up. A cool voice came through, "Sadie!"
"Tristan." Sadie was a bit emotional. "It's so good to hear your voice."
She hadn't heard Tristan's voice in a long time.
Although she knew he had been protecting and helping her from the shadows, they hadn't been in direct contact.
Hearing his voice now, Sadie felt a deep sense of familiarity.
After everything that had happened, their sibling bond seemed stronger than ever.
Tristan always had a cold demeanor. Even though he was worried about Sadie, he didn't show it much in his words. "I only have two minutes."
"Then I'll get straight to the point," Sadie said quickly. "I just ran into Riley. Tristan, can she bring Micah back to Hillside Villa for treatment and return to Country E after he's healed?"
"No," Tristan refused decisively. "She must come back immediately."
"But—"
Sadie wanted to say more, but Tristan hung up the phone.
