Chapter 1563 Released
"Ms. James, I think Mary just has some scrapes and bruises. It doesn't look too bad, so try not to worry," Arya said, trying to calm her down.
"Well, at least we found three of the kids. That's something. But Noah and Nathan are still out there. How about I take Emma, Mary, and Donna to the hospital while you go look for the boys?"
"From what we saw at the repair shop, it looks like they didn't stay long. They probably dropped off Emma, Mary, and Donna and took off. It's been a while, so tracking them down won't be easy."
"Besides, Mary needs medical attention. I can't just leave her like this. My brother trusted me with these kids, and I have to make sure they're okay."
Sadie was trying to stay logical, but inside, she was really worried about Noah and Nathan.
"But..." Arya started to say something when Annika called.
Sadie quickly answered, "Annika, any updates?"
"We haven't found Mr. Clemens yet, but we think he's alive. We found some medicine residue, so it looks like Riley is treating him. But I don't get why Riley is hiding with him. She knows we're looking for her."
Annika sounded confused.
"There's probably someone else after them too. She can't tell who's friend or foe, so she's on the run," Sadie guessed. "As long as he's alive, there's hope."
"Yeah, Jesse said the same thing."
"Tell Jesse to keep searching. We need more people here. I need all the help I can get."
"Got it."
Sadie rushed the three kids to Peace Hospital.
Dahlia personally attended to them and had other doctors check Emma and Donna for injuries.
Sadie anxiously waited for the results at the hospital, her mind also preoccupied with Noah and Nathan's situation.
Annika arrived quickly. On the way, she had called Arya to get updated on the situation and felt guilty for not being more helpful.
After about an hour of examinations, Dahlia came out to report, "Ms. James, Mary's injuries are a bit complicated and will take some time to treat, but she's not in any life-threatening danger."
"That's a relief." Sadie let out a breath she didn't realize she was holding. "Please take good care of her. Make sure nothing goes wrong."
"Don't worry, I'll do my best," Dahlia nodded. "Also, Emma and Donna have been checked. Aside from some minor scrapes and being a bit shaken up, they're fine. I'll have someone give them a shot, and they just need some rest."
"Alright."
Sadie nodded and then instructed all her subordinates to stay at the hospital with Arya to protect Mia and the three kids. She then hurriedly left with Annika.
Annika drove to meet up with Rylan, updating Sadie on the situation along the way.
After listening, Sadie frowned and said, "So Nicholas must have known Micah wasn't dead and has been searching for him all this time. No wonder Riley is hiding."
"Why hasn't she contacted you?" Annika asked, puzzled.
"Maybe she didn't have the chance. Another possibility," Sadie said gravely, "is that Micah's condition is severe, and she's not confident she can cure him."
"That makes sense," Annika nodded. "She might be afraid of giving you false hope and then disappointing you again. Or, as a doctor, she might want to try treating him first and only contact you if she succeeds."
"Yeah, that's probably it." Sadie's mood sank further. "Now my husband is missing, and I've lost the kids too."
"Ms. James, don't worry. I don't think Nicholas would dare harm the kids," Annika reassured her. "He knew enough to have his men release Emma, Mary, and Donna, which means he's still wary of Mr. Clemens."
