Chapter 1678 Picking Up the Children

"How could he do that?" Rylan was completely floored. "Using a kid to make a deal?"

"He won't hurt Noah," Micah said, sounding sure. "He just wants Riley to come back."

"So, what do we do now?" Rylan was stumped.

"We definitely can't confront him directly."

After everything that had gone down, Micah had grown up a lot. He started seeing the whole James Family and Clemens Family feud more clearly and didn't hold the same grudge against Tristan anymore.

Thinking about recent events, he sighed, "No matter what, he saved Sadie and Noah, and his wife saved me. We owe them."

"That's true," Rylan said, surprised. He hadn't expected Micah to come around so fast.

"You go handle the company stuff first," Micah instructed.

"Got it." Rylan nodded and hurried off.

Micah turned to look at Sadie lying in the hospital bed, gently stroking her cheek with a pained expression.

"Mr. Clemens, Ms. James lost a lot of blood and is very weak. She probably won't wake up until tonight," the doctor standing nearby said softly.

"Okay," Micah responded, then turned to Annika. "Take care of her for me."

"Of course, I will," Annika nodded. "Are you leaving?"

"I need to go to the company," Micah glanced at his watch. "I'll be back tonight."

"Alright, I'll take care of things here. Don't worry."

Annika walked Micah out. Andrew had been waiting outside and was visibly excited when he saw Micah. "Mr. Clemens!"

Both master and servant were in wheelchairs, having survived a harrowing ordeal. They were deeply moved by the experience.

"It's good to be alive," Micah smiled at Andrew, patting his shoulder. "Get well soon. There's still a lot for you to do."

"Yes, yes," Andrew nodded repeatedly.

"Mr. Clemens!"

In the hallway, Rodolfo and the other subordinates had been waiting for a long time. Seeing Micah, they were all very excited.

Having survived this disaster, they cherished their time following Micah even more.

"Good, everyone is here."

Micah glanced at them, a satisfied smile playing on his lips.

Hearing this, everyone couldn't help but tear up.

"One team stays here to protect the lady, the other team comes with me to the company."

Micah didn't waste words, directly assigning tasks.

"Yes!"

Eighteen voices responded in unison, echoing like thunder.

"Shh!" Micah gestured. "Don't wake the lady."

"Yes!"

Rylan and Andrew, watching this scene, were moved to tears.

Everyone said Micah was cold and ruthless, but they knew the truth. He was deeply loyal and caring.

Otherwise, these people wouldn't follow him so devotedly, willing to risk their lives.

They had all faced unprecedented challenges recently.

But now, the storm had finally passed.

In the room, Annika opened the curtains and looked at the rainbow in the sky, her mood instantly brightening.

The sky seemed freshly washed, clean and pure.

All the gloom had lifted. It was wonderful!

Suddenly, the phone rang. Annika quickly silenced it to avoid waking Sadie and answered quietly, "Hello, Arya!"

"Annika, how's Ms. James?" Arya asked urgently.

"Ms. James is still asleep. What's going on?"

Annika glanced at Sadie in the bed.

"Mr. Clemens sent people to pick up Emma, Mary, and Donna. The car is already in the yard. I thought I should check with Ms. James first."

"Well..."

"Arya, are you disobeying Mr. Clemens now?"

Annika was about to speak when Terry's annoyed voice came through the phone.

Blimey, My Kid's the Heir to the Billionaire Boss!
