Chapter 1540 Forced

"Stop looking so down. You're heading to the office, not a funeral."

Sadie shot a cold glare at Micah.

"Sadie, I'm coming with you. What more do you want?"

Micah looked like he was on the verge of tears.

"What?" Sadie raised an eyebrow.

"Okay, okay, I was wrong. The company is my responsibility. I should go, I have to go. But I feel awful right now. I can't even smile."

"Who said you had to smile? Just don't look so miserable," Sadie snapped. "Forget it, I don't have time for this. Get in the car."

Micah followed Sadie to the car, feeling utterly dejected.

Their entourage also got into the cars, and Rebecca came running out with a bowl of soup. "Mr. Clemens, you haven't had breakfast yet."

Micah's mouth twitched. He'd been drinking soup for three days straight. He was so hungry he felt weak, but he'd rather starve than drink another drop of soup.

So, Micah practically fled into the car, leaving Rebecca standing there, bewildered.

As the car started moving, Sadie handed him a stack of documents. "If there's no traffic, the drive will take 35 minutes. You need to go through these in 30 minutes and memorize them. We'll use the last five minutes to discuss."

"What? This many documents in 30 minutes, and you want me to..."

"You used to do it in three minutes," Sadie cut him off coldly. "If it weren't for your illness, you'd have a photographic memory."

Micah had no comeback. Whenever Sadie brought up the past, he had no argument.

"You've already wasted a minute," Sadie said, glancing at her watch. "Get to it."

Micah reluctantly started reading, but he was too anxious. He couldn't remember anything, even if he had three days.

So, he resorted to his usual trick. "My head hurts, it really hurts!"

"What's wrong?" Sadie frowned at him.

"It hurts!" Micah clutched his forehead, looking pained.

Sadie had anticipated this. Without a word, she pulled out a pack of acupuncture needles. "I've been prepared for this. I learned some treatments from Hubert. If it hurts, a needle will fix it."

Sadie pulled out a needle and moved to stick it in Micah's head.

"No!" Micah immediately resisted. "I can manage. No need for needles. I'll read the documents right now."

With that, Micah picked up the documents and started reading intently.

A faint smile played on Sadie's lips as she picked up her phone to send messages, instructing Chloe, Anthony, and others to get ready.

She also replied to Ryan and Silas, discussing the day's plans and making arrangements.

Before they knew it, 30 minutes had passed. Sadie snatched the documents from Micah's hands. "Did you memorize everything?"

"No, my head hurts too much. I couldn't focus. I didn't finish."

Micah rubbed his temples, putting on a pained expression.

"Never mind," Sadie said, not pressing the issue. She grabbed his chin, lifting his head. "Now, listen carefully. I have a few things to tell you."

"What?" Micah was taken aback.

"First, when we get to the office, some reporters will interview you. You'll record a video to clear up the rumors about me and Masson, showing your trust in me."

"Second..."

"Hold on," Micah interrupted, frowning in annoyance. "I don't even know if there's something going on between you and Masson. Why should I clear it up?"

Blimey, My Kid's the Heir to the Billionaire Boss!
