Chapter 1584 Exhaustion

It probably wasn't just about the money on the bank card. Micah had been so serious when he handed it to Brenda; there must be another reason.

Brenda had been in the middle of saying something when the call abruptly ended.

What was she trying to say?

Sadie rummaged through the box again. It was filled with Edmond and Brenda's belongings, and aside from the ruby necklace, there was nothing particularly special.

Sadie was puzzled.

But she didn't have time to dwell on it now. She needed to figure out a way to save Noah and Nathan and find Riley.

Sadie carefully put everything back in the box and was about to message Rylan to check on his situation when another call came in.

It was Chloe.

Sadie quickly answered, "Chloe."

"Ms. James, are you okay?" Chloe's voice sounded guilty. "I wanted to say goodbye to you yesterday, but..."

"I get it," Sadie said, feeling relieved. "I'm just glad you called."

"Ms. James, I don't know what's going on, and I don't understand why Mr. Clemens is acting this way, but I still trust you."

"Thanks, Chloe."

"Ms. James, this morning, Mr. Clemens is holding a board meeting to reorganize the positions, and he didn't notify Ryan. I'm really worried."

"Looks like they know Ryan is protecting me and want to isolate him," Sadie said, frowning. "He's in such a hurry to get rid of Ryan."

"What should we do?" Chloe was anxious. "Ms. James, what's going on? Mr. Clemens seems completely different since he came back. It's really strange."

"You know too much, and it's not good for you," Sadie said, frowning. "Ryan's position is already unstable. You need to protect yourself and just follow their instructions. If there's any major news, let me know."

"But wouldn't that be betraying you?" Chloe couldn't accept it. "I feel like what they're doing goes against Mr. Clemens' original intentions. If I follow their orders, wouldn't I be a traitor?"

"No, think of it as being undercover," Sadie reassured her. "You'll be useful at a critical moment."

"Really?" Chloe felt relieved hearing this.

"Of course," Sadie smiled. "Alright, go ahead and get busy. Remember, don't let anyone think you're close to me. Just do your job well."

"Got it, Ms. James."

Chloe quickly hung up.

Sadie held her phone, her brow furrowed tightly.

Nicholas must know she wouldn't give up easily, which is why he's rushing to take over the Clemens Group's assets.

She needed to find a solution soon, or the Clemens family's legacy would be lost.

But right now, the kids' lives were uncertain, and Micah was missing.

Sadie's mind was a mess, and she felt helpless about the company's situation.

She had already signed those return agreements, and Alan was controlling the Clemens Group. Silas and Ryan had been marginalized.

What else could she do?

Thinking about all this made Sadie anxious. She wanted to come up with a good plan, but her mind was in chaos, and she couldn't think of anything.

"Ms. James, don't think too much right now. You need to rest. You haven't slept in almost two days. If you keep going like this, you'll get sick," Arya urged Sadie.

"Yeah, take advantage of the quiet now and get some sleep. If Jesse finds a lead, we'll need to go there, and you won't be able to manage if you're exhausted," Annika added.

"You're right," Sadie was already exhausted. "I need to rest. Otherwise, my mind will stay muddled, and I won't have the strength to find Noah and Nathan."

Blimey, My Kid's the Heir to the Billionaire Boss!
