Chapter 1676 Completely Defeated
Riley was about to start cursing when she saw Alan sneaking out the back door. She quickly chased after him, shouting, "Hey, jerk! Where do you think you're going?"
With Riley gone, the conference room finally fell silent.
The police swiftly detained the members of the Graham Family and took control of Nicholas.
"On what grounds are you arresting me?" Nicholas protested loudly. "What crime have I committed?"
"You're suspected of illegal detention, hiring hitmen, and using illegal means to seize the assets of the Clemens Group. Isn't that enough?" one of the officers barked.
"You said it yourself, suspected. Do you have any evidence? Without evidence, at most, you can ask me to assist in the investigation. Why are you arresting me?"
Nicholas rubbed his neck and sneered. "Don't think I don't know the law. I'm well-versed in the laws of your country."
"And your men carrying illegal firearms isn't a crime?" the officer retorted angrily.
"That's their business, not mine," Nicholas continued to argue.
"You want evidence? Fine."
Micah opened his laptop, connected it to the projector, and played a series of videos showing Nicholas ordering his men to kidnap two children and hire hitmen.
Nicholas was stunned, his eyes filled with disbelief.
How could this be?
How could there be these videos?
The next second, he turned to glare at Olivia. He knew very well that these were filmed in his study at home. If it wasn't someone from his own family, there was no way they could have obtained this evidence.
"Sorry, Dad," Olivia said unapologetically. "You taught me when I was little to be an honest person."
Nicholas was furious. "You damn traitor! I'll kill you!"
Olivia looked at Nicholas coldly, remembering all the pain he had caused her. She felt no regret, only hatred.
She smiled coldly and said, "Officer, I have more evidence of Nicholas and Alan conspiring to take over the Clemens Group. It's very detailed and clear."
"Excellent. Please come with us to the station to assist in the investigation," the officer said, instructing someone to escort Olivia out.
"Sure," Olivia replied, ignoring Nicholas's crazed outburst. She followed the police, but as she passed Micah, her eyes reddened. She wanted to say something but remained silent.
"Thank you," Micah said.
Tears streamed down Olivia's face. She said nothing and left with her head down.
"Micah, don't think you've won," Nicholas shouted, still unwilling to accept defeat. "Your son is still in my hands, and so is your wife."
"They're already..."
"His son has already been rescued," a cold voice interrupted. "And his wife is right here!"
Micah's whole body trembled. He turned around to see who had entered, his heart feeling like it was about to burst.
Sadie stood there, her face covered in blood, staining her white shirt. Her hair was matted with dried blood, and the knife wound on her shoulder was glaringly obvious. Yet, she still exuded an unyielding aura.
Her clear, bright eyes glared at Nicholas with hatred as she shouted, "Evil will never prevail, Nicholas. You've lost!"
Nicholas collapsed in despair. Yes, he had lost, and lost completely.
"Take them away!" the police ordered, quickly escorting Nicholas and his men out and handling the aftermath.
Sadie looked through the crowd at Micah, tears streaming down her face uncontrollably.
