Chapter 1625 Smart People

Sadie paused for a moment and gave Annika a look, signaling her to close the door.

Annika shut the door and stood guard by it.

"Gabriella, why would you say that?" Sadie finally began to speak with Gabriella.

"Even though I have confidence in my medical skills, I also know my limits," Gabriella replied with a bitter smile.

"Andrew has been sick for so long, and despite the surgery, there was no significant improvement. Why did he suddenly get better in the past two days?"

"And then there's Mary. Due to the lack of medical equipment, I was at a loss, but after two nights, she just got better on her own."

"One person might be a medical miracle, but two people improving simultaneously? There must be another skilled doctor involved."

Sadie didn't want Gabriella to know about Riley, but she also felt it wouldn't be right to leave things unexplained.

After a brief pause, she said, "Actually, that's not important. Tristan brought you here to help Mary, and now that she's better, you can consider your job done."

"How did you know Tristan brought me here?"

Gabriella was very surprised; she had never let that slip.

"At this point, who else but Tristan could have convinced you to come?" Sadie smiled.

"After all, the Graham family issued a warning, and no one in the medical field dared to intervene. Without Tristan's protection, you wouldn't have dared to come either, right?"

"That's true." Gabriella sighed. "The high treatment fees were one thing, but the danger was another. But with Mr. L's protection, I didn't have to fear those people."

"Exactly." Sadie breathed a sigh of relief. "Since Tristan sent you, just focus on the treatment. I'll handle the rest."

"Could it be that Riley helped out?" Gabriella suddenly asked.

Sadie was stunned. She hadn't expected Gabriella to know about Riley.

"It seems I was right." Gabriella was very excited. "To be honest, money doesn't matter to me anymore. I took this job not just because Mr. L personally asked me, but also because I wanted to meet the legendary doctor, Riley."

"Well..."

"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone, not even Mr. L," Gabriella assured her, clearly excited. "Otherwise, if he sends me back to Country F early, I won't get to meet Riley."

"That's good."

Sadie felt relieved. Having interacted with Gabriella for so long, she knew she was genuine.

Gabriella wasn't interested in fame or fortune; she was passionate about medicine and disliked deceitful schemes.

So, her words were likely sincere.

"Well, I..." Gabriella was about to say something when her phone rang.

She answered it and her expression changed dramatically. "What? I'll be right there."

After hanging up, Gabriella turned to Sadie. "Ms. James, I need to take a leave."

"What happened?" Sadie asked.

"My good friend, Ms. Graham, is in trouble. I need to go immediately," Gabriella said urgently. "Don't worry, I know your relationship with the Graham family is complicated. I swear I won't reveal anything."

"The Graham family doesn't know you're helping us, right?" Sadie asked, concerned.

"No, they don't." Gabriella shook her head. "How could I let that slip? If word got out, it would be troublesome for me too. Don't worry, I know how to handle this."

"Then you should go," Sadie said, frowning. "Ms. Graham probably needs you right now."

"Okay." Gabriella nodded and hurried to pack her things.

Sadie arranged for someone to take her down the mountain and even chose a car with clean plates for her to use.

Annika, still worried, asked, "Do you think Gabriella might accidentally reveal something?"

"No, she's smart," Sadie said confidently.
