Chapter 1603 Riley Rescues the Girl

"Mom." Donna threw herself into Riley's arms, sobbing uncontrollably. "Mom, Mary got hurt. It's really bad."

"What?" Riley's face went pale with shock. She cupped Donna's small face, her voice trembling. "How did Mary get hurt? Who did this? Where's your aunt? Didn't she protect you?"

"Bad people kidnapped us, then let us go, and Mary fell and got hurt. Noah and Nathan are still missing, and Auntie has been getting bullied a lot lately."

"Okay, I get it." Riley didn't wait for Donna to finish before urgently asking, "Where's Mary? Take me to her."

"She's in the medical room on the first floor."

Riley picked up Donna and climbed through the window to the first-floor medical room, quickly finding Mary unconscious.

At that moment, Arya and two medical staff were still watching over Mary.

The two medical staff had already fallen asleep.

Arya was holding a wet towel, gently wiping Mary's body. Seeing Mary's discomfort, Arya choked up and said, "Mary, don't be scared. Auntie is figuring something out. No matter the cost, she'll get you to the hospital."

Outside the window, Riley saw this scene, and her tightly furrowed brow relaxed a bit. It seemed these people genuinely cared for her daughter.

"Arya," Donna called out instinctively.

Arya turned around reflexively, and Riley immediately threw a silver needle, hitting Arya in the neck. Arya collapsed softly beside the bed, still holding the wet towel.

Donna, not even three years old, showed no sign of panic or fear at the sight. Instead, she seemed used to it and helped open the window, climbing into the medical room with Riley.

Riley took out a handkerchief and wiped it under the noses of the two medical staff, causing them to slump over, fast asleep.

Without a glance, Donna expertly locked the door, closed the window, and drew the curtains.

Meanwhile, Riley had already started examining and treating Mary.

About an hour later, while Riley was still treating Mary, the sound of a car pulling up outside reached them. Soon after, Sadie's voice could be heard: "Where's Arya? Tell her to get ready. We're taking Mary to Evergreen Heights Medical Center first thing in the morning."

"Arya's in the medical room. I'll go get her."

"Ms. James, will Evergreen Heights Medical Center take Mary?" a female bodyguard asked. "I thought all the hospitals were controlled by the Graham Family and the Clemens Family and wouldn't accept Mary and Andrew?"

"Yeah, they were doing fine at Dr. Rey's, but they got sent back."

"They weren't sent back; those people were going to harm them. Dr. Rey defied orders to protect Mary and Andrew, making sure we got them out first."

"It's all arranged," Sadie said, sounding tired.

"Ms. James had to beg for a long time, personally going to see Silas and then someone else to get it sorted," Annika added. "Go run a bath for Ms. James so she can get some rest. She hasn't slept much these past few days. And have the kitchen make some porridge."

"Yes."

Hearing this, Riley's brow furrowed. She was puzzled. Wasn't Sadie the head of the Clemens Family? How could the Clemens Family be against her? And who were the Graham Family?

Riley didn't like the scheming of the business world and didn't follow the news, so she was completely unaware of the recent controversies.

Just then, there was a soft knock on the door. "Arya, are you in there?"

Riley mimicked Arya's voice and answered, "Yeah, I'm here."

"Ms. James wants you to get ready to take Mary to Evergreen Heights Medical Center in the morning," the female bodyguard outside said.

"Got it," Riley replied, continuing to treat Mary.

The female bodyguard found it a bit odd and was about to push the door open to check.
