Chapter 1630 The Last Trump Card

[Because I owe Sadie from two years ago, starting today, I'll give half of my daily income to Sadie as compensation. I swear I won't go back on my word, and if I do, may I be struck by lightning and die a horrible death!]

This childish "debt repayment contract," written in Sadie's messy handwriting, had a date, Micah's signature, and his fingerprint at the bottom.

That fingerprint was made with Micah's blood, after Sadie had bitten his finger to make him sign it.

Back then, Sadie was still called Sadie, and she thought Micah was just a male escort. She forced him to use his earnings to repay his debt.

Now, as Sadie looked at the agreement, she realized it didn't specify Micah's profession or limit his income.

Moreover, although they had agreed on a three-month period, the contract didn't mention this time limit.

In other words, according to this agreement, Micah should have been giving half of his daily income to Sadie from the day the contract was signed, as compensation.

Could this be what Micah meant?

Sadie was thrilled and immediately called Anthony.

"Ms. James, what is this about?" Annika hadn't figured out what was going on.

The call connected quickly, and Sadie urgently asked, "Does a contract signed by hand and with a fingerprint have legal validity?"

"Typically, it needs to be verified and reviewed, but if there's an accompanying statement, it doesn't need verification," Anthony answered professionally.

"There's no statement. How long does verification take?" Sadie pressed.

"What do you mean no statement?" Anthony suddenly said, "The statement has always been with me."

"What?" Sadie was stunned.

"The board meeting is at three o'clock, and it's already two-twenty. You should get ready to leave," Anthony said with a smile. "I'll be waiting for you at the office."

Hearing this, Sadie suddenly realized that Micah had left her a way out.

He feared that after he was gone, people with ill intentions would come to take everything.

Even if he transferred all his assets to Sadie, it wouldn't stop their schemes.

So, he left one more move.

This seemingly playful debt repayment contract had no legal effect on its own, but paired with a lawyer-drafted statement, it became useful.

It just had to be revealed at the right moment!

So, he arranged for two unassuming people, Rebecca and Anthony, to each keep a part of it.

No matter how clever Nicholas was, he hadn't anticipated that they held the final lifeline.

Sadie, overwhelmed with excitement, carefully put away the contract, instructed Annika to prepare, and hurried to her room to shower and change before heading to VIC Group.

Annika wanted to bring more people, but Sadie insisted on leaving most of the staff at home.

She was worried that Nicholas might target the children, making it dangerous.

So, this time, Sadie only took Annika and Aurora with her.

On the way, Sadie's phone rang again. Ryan asked how things were going, and she replied with one sentence: "I'm on my way!"

"You're coming over? Are you prepared?" Ryan was concerned.

"If I'm coming, I'm prepared," Sadie said. "But I'm worried they might try to stop me from going up."

"Leave that to me," Ryan said immediately. "I've been with the company long enough to have some authority."

"Good, see you soon."

"Alright."

After hanging up, Sadie thought for a moment and sent a message to Gabriella: [How are things on your end?]

"I'm afraid I'll need a few more days off," Gabriella sighed and lowered her voice, "Ms. Graham, she..."
