Chapter 1602 Mother and Daughter Reunited
How long had he been lying there?
Micah had a hazy sense that someone had been taking care of him. Even though this person often cursed at him, kicked him, and sometimes even threw things at him, they were undoubtedly saving his life.
And that person was probably the legendary Riley.
He vaguely remembered hearing her call herself Riley.
He had no clue how he ended up in her care, being moved from place to place while she treated him, but now he was finally awake.
He owed her his life, and there was no getting around that.
But Micah couldn't understand why, after being out for so long, Sadie and his family hadn't found him yet. They must have been searching everywhere.
He had a gut feeling that someone had been tracking Riley during this time, but they didn't seem to have good intentions.
Who were these people?
If someone was maliciously tracking him, it meant something had happened at home. Otherwise, these people wouldn't have had the chance.
What exactly had happened at home?
What about Sadie and the kids?
Earlier, Riley mentioned something had happened to her baby. Who was her baby?
She had just left.
Thinking of this, Micah began to turn his head, searching the room for a phone.
He wanted to find a phone to contact Sadie.
But everything in this room was primitive, with no electronic devices in sight.
Micah couldn't summon animals to send messages like Riley could.
So, he had to abandon that idea.
Now, he needed to get better quickly so he could go home.
Thinking of Sadie and the kids, Micah wished he could stand up immediately, but his body was still stiff; only his head and neck could move.
However, he felt some changes in his body. The numbness in his head was gone, and his mind was becoming clearer.
This meant the toxins in his body were at least under control.
Maybe with a little more time, he would fully recover.
He had to recover.
At that moment, it started to rain outside.
While Micah lay on the wooden bed, lost in thought, Riley had already driven her beat-up car out of the forest, heading straight for Hillside Villa.
A few eagles flew alongside her, matching her car's speed, as if escorting her.
Riley parked her car at the back of Hillside Villa, then climbed over the back gate alone.
It was already late at night, and the people at Hillside Villa were asleep, with only a few female bodyguards on duty. Riley easily avoided their watchful eyes and slipped into the villa.
But just as she climbed in, she was spotted by a maid.
The maid was carrying a bowl of medicine, heading to a room, and was startled when she saw Riley. She opened her mouth to scream.
Riley quickly threw a needle, and the maid collapsed immediately.
Before the maid hit the ground, Riley rushed over, took the tray from her hands, gently placed it aside, and propped the maid against the wall. Then she slipped into the nearby room.
Inside, a man lay on the bed. He looked somewhat familiar, as if she had seen him somewhere before.
But the man looked pitiful, severely injured and poisoned, unconscious.
He hadn't received proper medical treatment; his head had been operated on, and he was so thin his eye sockets were sunken, with no sign of improvement.
Riley initially didn't want to get involved, but thinking he was part of this household, she suddenly felt a surge of compassion. She took out some silver needles and gave him a few acupuncture points, then slipped into the next room to find her child.
"Mommy!"
Donna had been waiting by the window for a long time. Seeing the eagles circling in the sky, she knew her mom had returned.
Even though her mom wore a mask and hat, making her face unrecognizable, the snake on her wrist was unmistakable.
"Donna!" Riley rushed over, hugging Donna tightly. "Donna, Mommy missed you so much."
