Chapter 1671 He Is Back
"Alright, everyone, I've got some big news."
Alan sat at the head of the table, speaking as the CEO—
"To help the company grow, I've decided to transfer all my shares in the Clemens Group to Nicholas!"
The room went dead silent. The board members who had sold their shares looked especially freaked out.
"What the hell?"
"When you bought our shares, you said you just wanted a small stake to have a say in the board. How did it come to this?"
"I told you not to sell your shares to him," Ryan said, his voice dripping with regret. "Now he's got eight percent of your shares, and with that jerk's twenty percent, he's the biggest shareholder in the Clemens Group."
"We had no idea."
The board members finally realized Nicholas's sneaky plan, each of them filled with regret and frustration.
Some glared at Nicholas, ready to confront him.
Nicholas stayed cool, smiling pleasantly at everyone.
"Quiet," Alan said, tapping the table and speaking coldly. "Here are copies of the share transfer agreements. Take a look."
He gestured for the secretary to hand out the copies.
"What's the point of this?" Ryan asked icily. "Have you completed the transfer procedures?"
This was the crucial question, and everyone waited for the answer.
If the transfer procedures were complete, it meant the agreement was effective, and the shares were officially in Nicholas's hands.
If not, it meant there was still a step left.
Normally, it would take some time to review and complete the transfer procedures.
But Nicholas had used some means to speed up the process, intending to finalize the transfer in front of everyone at the board meeting.
However, the internet had suddenly gone down, and even cell signals were lost, interrupting the transfer process.
Facing Ryan's question, Alan remained silent, looking at Nicholas, signaling him to answer.
"The network will be fixed soon, and then we can complete the transfer procedures."
Nicholas looked at Ryan with a half-smile, convinced that Ryan had sabotaged the network to prevent the transfer.
Ryan, on the other hand, was secretly thrilled. He had initially thought Nicholas was behind the network and signal issues, preventing him from contacting Sadie.
Now he realized that wasn't the case.
Not being able to contact Sadie was a minor issue; the inability to complete the transfer was the major one.
While he had the technical skills, he lacked the strategic foresight to plan such a move.
But there was only one person who had both the skills and the strategy to set this up in advance.
Could it be that he had returned?
Ryan could barely contain his excitement, his hand trembling slightly as he held his coffee. If he had returned, then there was hope.
"Since the transfer isn't complete, we don't recognize it."
Declan took a firm stance, directly opposing the move.
"That's right, we don't recognize it," other board members echoed.
Nicholas frowned and gave Alan a look.
Alan immediately snapped, "The share transfer agreements have been signed. The transfer is just a matter of time. Who dares not recognize it?"
"Mr. Clemens, what's going on? The Clemens Group is such a large enterprise. How can you just hand it over?" an elderly board member couldn't help but question. "What about your family?"
"Yeah," others chimed in, "You weren't like this before. Under your leadership, the Clemens Group and VIC Group have thrived. Why give up now?"
"Is someone holding something over you?"
Everyone speculated, whispering among themselves.
Alan grew irritated and snapped, "Everyone, shut up!"
