Chapter 26 The Greedy and Lustful Woman

Sadie quickly grabbed a tissue to wipe her nose and began recounting her disastrous day. "First, I almost got hit by a car this morning. Then, my boss made me clean the swimming pool at work. I got soaked and nearly froze to death. As if that wasn't bad enough, Samuel harassed me. And when I got off work, some women cornered me and yanked out a handful of my hair." She sniffled, "Oh, my hair."

Micah, feeling smug, quirked an eyebrow. "So, you see, when people do bad things, they get unlucky," he boasted, thinking her misfortunes were punishment for her actions last night.

Sadie shook her head dismissively. "No, that's not it," she protested, waving her hand dismissively. "I'm just unlucky because I have a demon boss. You have no idea how perverted he is."

Micah listened as Sadie recounted her boss's misdeeds of the day. His irritation grew with each word, especially when she said, "I feel like he must have had an unhappy childhood or some psychological trauma. That's why he's so cruel and twisted."

Micah's face darkened, mirroring the night outside. His grip on the steering wheel tightened, and he suddenly sped up the car, making a sharp turn. Sadie's head hit the window with a loud bang.

"Ouch!" The intense pain made her groan involuntarily. She instinctively covered her forehead with her hand, tears welling up in her eyes.

"What's wrong with your boss? Keep talking; I'm very interested," Micah said coldly, his gaze like a blade slicing through the air between them.

Sadie bit her lip, feeling a mix of pain and dissatisfaction. She thought Micah was taking revenge for last night. "It hurts," she complained, hoping to elicit some sympathy.

Micah was indeed angry about Sadie's actions the previous night. But after witnessing her bad day and her apparent concern for him, he decided to let it go. But hearing her describe him so harshly crossed a line.

Sadie, feeling a surge of dissatisfaction, looked up at him with wide, innocent eyes. "I'm hurt. Can't you be a little nicer to me?"

Micah sneered, a mocking smile playing on his lips. "You think I'll go soft just because you're hurt?"

"Anyway, I got hurt because of you!" Sadie pouted, secretly hoping to use this moment to her advantage. "You owe me medical expenses and child support."

"I knew it!" Micah's eyes narrowed dangerously. "You greedy, lustful woman, you never learn from your mistakes." He shouldn't have softened his stance. He thought she was genuinely remorseful, but it turned out she just wanted him to keep making money for her.

Sadie's heart sank as anger surged within her. She couldn't help but snap back, "But we signed an agreement. Just give me the money, okay?" She began calculating expenses on her fingers, completely ignoring Micah's stormy expression.

Micah watched her lips move incessantly, spewing words that only irritated him further. If he could just shut her up, wouldn't it be peaceful? Without warning, he reached out, grabbed the back of her head, and pulled her close.

Sadie immediately tensed. The proximity was overwhelming, his masculine scent making her heart race. She felt the cold authority radiating from him, filling the space between them. "You... don't be mad. I'm just giving you a suggestion. If you think my demands are too much, we can negotiate," she stammered, annoyed at herself for feeling flustered by this cold, imposing man.

Micah ruthlessly shattered the charged atmosphere in the car. He pinched her chin, his thumb rubbing against her lips. "Do you want to be even more unlucky?"

"Honey, don't be mad," Sadie tried to speak, but Micah abruptly pushed her away. She lost her balance and crashed heavily against the car door.

"Get out," Micah commanded, his voice icy and devoid of any warmth.

Panic surged through Sadie. Sensing danger, she fumbled with the seatbelt, struggling to unbuckle it. Her attempt to escape was just a second too slow. Micah reached over, yanked open the door, and practically kicked her out.

"Get lost!" Micah's tone was final and merciless, his gaze hard and unyielding.
