CHAPTER HUNDRED AND FORTY-ONE

The entire place became pin drop silent as I recounted the details of the previous day, emitting some details.

I'd expected their expressions to show at least gratitude to an extent but then, who am I kidding?

We'd been trained to expect the humans to give us everything they have without asking questions.

“Now, I know you're wondering, what's the big deal about her saving the life of her husband, the King?” I continued, looking across the faces staring at me. “The thing is, my wife, the human you all do quickly despise us a blue blood,” I announced and the shock factor that I was looking for, echoed around the room. I waited for a few seconds for this to seep into their bones just like it did mine. “She has escaped the effects of the nectar of the gods even before she became my wife so she totally could have said, fuck you all and we'll all be dead, giving her the leeway to go back to her family which she abandoned on earth because of me.” I paused again, my own words getting to me more than the people I was addressing

“So she… loves you?” the ky’rhan that was given the mic asked. I had totally forgotten he was still standing there as I explained things to them.

“You see, that's the thing. It's not even about love in this scenario. She's pissed at me for so many things so that's not it. It's because humans are loyal. You haven't realized that because loyalty is a foreign concept amongst us ky’rhans and every time a human shows it to you, you chug it up as a result of the nectar of the gods. But I assure you, if you stop treating these people like shit, you'd have yourself true friends, not the ones that stab you in the back just for being who you are,” I voiced out, remembering Corbin.

I'd prepared for him to get tried, killed and his remains used to fuel the ship but I still couldn't believe he'd do what he did so I wanted him to stew in there and he'll see us get to Zorvath but he'll never be able to set foot on that planet.

“So here's the deal, I want you to try your best to treat humans like your equal but I don't want to force you to be friends with them. That'll be left to you to decide. But if you hurt them, discriminate against them or treat them like crap in any way, you'll be facing my wrath!”

The crowd looked properly reprimanded and I smiled.

“I also understand that a bored Zorvathian is a ticking time bomb so get ready, we're throwing a ship wide soiree in two weeks. Hopefully, my Luminari is properly recovered by that time,” I ended the speech, giving way for Zyx to give them information about scheduling and other tiny details we'd missed.

This was an orientation after all and if this ship is to fly peacefully for five months while containing so many people, we needed order.

While he spoke to them, I walked back to the clinic. I didn't want to use the bikes I'd designed for movement, I'd look ridiculous in them and I didn't want to teleport.

I was stronger now but I was not back to my full strength and I needed to be as close to Tessa as possible to give her my energy.

As I walked through the Ship's interior, I finally found where I'd plant the tulips that I had gotten.

Before I came for the meeting, I'd gone to my room, only to find just the sand on the ground and a few seeds. I'd have made a proper investigation about it but that would lead to people discovering it so I had to take what I could get. The seeds will germinate and that'll give us a full garden instead of just one or two flowers.

The spot was a dome I'd built to watch out for intruders above the ship.

I got to my room, collected the materials in a black bag and headed back to the dome.

Thankfully, everyone except the doctor and his nurses were still at the stadium so I knew no one was going to be any wiser.

I closed the door behind me and then started working.

By the time I was done, the sight was so beautiful and I knew she'd love it.

The flowers were in full bloom on one end of the square space and above me, through the glass was the sky, alit with a million stars.

This place would be our first date.

But first, she had to come out of a coma.

I returned back, securely locking that door and went back to her bedside.

I walked into the hospital room after changing into something more comfortable, knitted cargo shorts and a matching shirt.

“I want to set up an office here, how possible is that?” I asked Doc Fanny as I went straight to my woman's bedside.

“Um, it's already crowded here. Since she's more stable, we can move her to your room. I just need a couple of strong hands to get all these equipment in there.”

I nodded and gave the instructions on my phone.

It had taken me a while to figure out how to keep our phones functional while in transit and the energy I use to keep it active is one of the most draining. So everyone knows it's to be used, only for important things. Besides, everything sent runs through my brain so most people are cautious about using it.

Tessa had been moved to the bed I was in before so while they arranged her things in my room, I went to her side and gently lifted her.

Slowly and with utmost gentleness, I carried her inside my chambers, our body sizzling with the impact of our proximity.

If things were different, she'd be going to sleep in my arms every night, just like this.

As I walked in, something else jolted me out of my daydreaming.

It was Astrum, holding a stem of tulips with an accusatory look on his face.
