CHAPTER HUNDRED AND NINETY-THREE
“Ouch!" I exclaimed in pain as one of the girls tugged harshly at the ridiculous frock they'd dipped me in to look presentable to people who didn't even care about what I looked like.
The girls made me wish I could speak their language so badly.
It seemed that understanding the universal language we all spoke was a privilege on this planet because none of the women could speak it.
“Who knows where they brought this one from,” one of them said in their language as she took off my worn shoes.
“I wish Master would let us talk to these women he keeps bringing back as prisoners. We would have so much wide knowledge,” the second one. Her skin was almost like Roe’s own, but it was duller like she never went into the sun.
They were all adorned in jewelry and looked really beautiful but their eyes held a certain sadness.
“True. His harem is seven women big and that's seven planets we could have known about. It's annoying,” the third one added as she took my hand and dragged me to the small pool they called a bathtub.
The idea of this Drak having a harem didn't even surprise me. At this point, he was all shades of misogynist in my mind and if he enjoyed breaking women as much as he indicated earlier, I could only imagine how many he'd have under him.
But I refuse to let myself be a part of his harem.
I'll definitely kill him if I get the chance to before I leave here.
I was making a conscious effort to not let revenge block my mind or derail me from escaping.
But the moment I get a clear path, I'm popping his head, that's a promise.
I'd learned from my first few weeks with Xavier to just let these aliens do whatever they wanted so I didn't disturb their attempts to bathe me like a child.
“This one is a bit too docile,” the darker girl said to the one washing my hair as she washed my body.
“Maybe he'd broken her before bringing her here.”
“Be careful with the thing on her head. If you remove it by mistake, it might reawaken her and who knows what hell she'll unleash.”
“I heard she killed a dozen men in front of the king with just a look,” the third one said as she brought out another frock and set it aside before bringing more jewelry and accessories.
I looked at it all and sighed; I would endure all of this if only I'd be able to get something to eat, I felt more hungry than ever.
I felt a sharp pain in my skull from the girl as she tried to pack my hair up.
“Stop that!” I snapped at her, and I could see the terror in her eyes from my reaction.
I scooped water and poured it on my hair to rinse it off and let it fall on my shoulders.
I had the urge to cut it, but I didn't want to make a semi-permanent decision while pissed off and irritated, so I walked out of the bath and went to the other girl, who also looked freaked out.
I signaled for her to help me with the towel and that snapped her out of her reverie.
She cleaned me up and they all came together to help me into the long ball gown, gather, girdle and all.
I felt like I was going to faint from how tight it was so I began to take breathing exercises to steady myself.
When I could finally breathe without feeling like the air was clouding my head, I opened my eyes only to find them staring at me like I'd just discovered sorcery.
I put my feet in the ballet flats they provided and began walking away but they rushed before me, making me pause.
One of them, they called her Netri, brought a chair for me and they started wearing me jewelry.
She literally tried piercing my nose, I had to tap her hand to stop it.
It was like a shock to them that I didn't have holes anywhere else but my ears.
They even tried wrapping the machine on my head with jewelry and I gently took the girl's hand away before she hurt me again.
They probably didn't realize that this thing was pushed into my skin.
Each time I imagine how much pain I'll experience when I have to remove it, I feel terrified.
I breathed deeply when they finally finished.
The moment we got downstairs, Aisen was walking down the other staircase with three ladies behind him, all dressed up as much as I was, only they had way more jewelry on them.
The thought of walking with him and all four of us inflating his ego made me feel irritated.
“Must I go?” I asked him the moment he was within earshot. “I'm really tired from all the day's events and hungry too. I really just want to sleep.”
“You should be grateful his Majesty is even letting you walk freely,” one of the ladies behind him snapped at me before he could answer me. She was wearing a green saree and silver jewelry with dark makeup.
“Most of us spent a good time in the dungeon for months before we were allowed to come outside. Be grateful!” another one in a frock like me, hers yellow threw at me as well.
I looked at them with pity in my eyes, I couldn't even bring myself to be angry.
“You're really good at breaking people's spirits,” I said to him with venom in my voice.
He laughed, a rich, bellowing sound that irritated the hell out of me.
“I don't want to take the conventional route with you, kitten,” he replied and walked closer to me. Staring into my eyes, he grabbed my chin, making me wince in pain, and said: “I want to see how long it'll take you to realize that no matter how powerful you are, you're under my feet and won't be able to escape.”
I took a step back, making his hand fall away from my face.
“If you won't let me go to sleep, lead the way so this nightmare can pause for the night,” I said tiredly.
He smirked at me before walking out of the door and the three women rushed after him.
I took a deep breath and joined them.
