CHAPTER HUNDRED AND SIXTY-SIX
Thirty minutes later and I had it all ready.
“Get me Zyx,” I said to Amer, looking everything over to make sure it was working well.
He rushed out quickly and in little time, Zyx and the rest of the council ran into the Command room, crowding the whole place.
“We noticed something moving under us, what is happening?” Lyra-en asked, her eyes narrowing at me.
“Your king is overwhelmed and tired so I decided to help,” I replied, giving her the same irritated look. I wasn't in the mood to condone drama at that moment, Xavier’s life was in danger. “All around the ship, you'll find the controls for each machine gun. Once I give the signal, fire as rapidly as possible at every warship you see except the one out front, okay?”
“Yes, but what if he gets hit?” Kaid asked in concern.
“That's why I just said, don't shoot the main one in front of us,” I snapped. “Look at it here,” I said, pointing to the camera that had a distant view of the one Xavier is in. “You won't recognize him because he's wearing their armor but you should notice the person teleporting from one point to another. That should tell you how tired he is and how quickly we need to end this,” I emphasized, looking them in the eyes with all seriousness. “Take this, each one will guide you to the room where the control for each machine gun is and you need to give me a signal here each time you need a refill. So it's probably best if you all start two minutes apart from each other so I don't get overwhelmed. Pregnant woman here, remember?”
“We understand, I just hope this works. Their ships look too sturdy for this,” Lyra-en replied.
“We can either do this or fold our hands and wait for his body to give up and they'll kill him,” I rebutted, my hands on my waist.
“You're right Your Highness, we must do something and this is the best option right now. If it doesn't work, we'll keep brainstorming. Guys let's get to work,” Zyx commanded, gathering them and taking them out.
I watched on the large 360 screens as they positioned in the right places while I mentally loaded the machine guns with very strong bullets. I didn't know much about them before but I did some research while I waited for them to get in position and I knew just the perfect one to use.
Even if their ships won't be affected by a wide margin, I was sure it'll blow the ships away from our ship.
“We're ready,” they said into my own side of the walkie-talkie.
“Okay, Zyx, you go first,” I said, loading it up. “Please make sure I got the design accurately. Wouldn't want to blow our ship instead of theirs,” I joked nervously.
“Naa, this is top-notch stuff. Your mind is really powerful, Your Majesty,” he replied, obviously impressed.
“Alright, Emery keep the ship in stasis, Everyone else, let's do this!” I commanded, getting ready to refill whoever needed it while also keeping up our defenses in case they retaliate.
In the next second, rounds of bullets were emitted by our people, the result a loud resounding noise of destruction and screams.
And just as I'd predicted, the ships that had been too close for comfort were now very far away from us.
Immediately, Xavier began teleporting towards the ship, moving one inch at a time while trying to ward off the attacking Draks. Even though the rest of their ships had been destroyed, they were still hell-bent on killing Xavier.
I watched painfully as he fought of their knives and daggers while shooting electric thunderbolts everywhere, sometimes it hit someone and sometimes it was just sent into empty space.
I wanted to go help him but the ships were returning and I needed to reload for them because I knew they weren't coming back from that much pressure coming from us with a smile on their face.
I increased the firepower on the guns and immediately they were close enough, I sent the command.
I knew they were strong but surviving that second blast would take a bit of time.
“Guys, I need to head out so look behind you, there's bullets you can load manually. Xavier is getting weaker every minute, I want to see if I can bring him back,” I said into the walkie.
“Are you sure it's safe?” Lyra-en asked with surprising concern. “You're pregnant, a knife in the wrong place will have dire consequences.”
“I understand but then, what can I do? He's been hopping for the past fifteen minutes, unable to teleport all the way here. I need to do something,” I replied, the sight of a struggling Xavier tearing me up inside.
“Have you teleported with someone else before?” Kaid asked a pertinent question.
“Nope. I've actually only teleported myself once but I don't plan to go there and gist with them, I'll simply get there and get him out quickly,” I explained.
“Then we need a distraction,” Zyx said.
“We're literally shooting their ships, doing shocking damage and they're not even bothered. It's like they're programmed to only think about killing Xavier and nothing else matters,” Lyra-en replied with frustration in her voice.
“What if I project a fake version of myself?” I suggested.
“Hmm. There's almost no harm in trying but then, you must be fast. Whatever happens to your weaker form will affect you and we're trying to reduce all forms of injury on you. You're already stretching yourself too thin,” Ollie, the councilman on the east side of the ship said. That was the longest time I'd heard him talk, he was always thinking or brooding so I knew this was important.
“Well, I don't seem to be coming up with any other ideas and no one has another one so I guess we'll have to do it. And quickly too, his hand injury is taking too long to heal,” I said, noticing how harder it was for him to raise his arm in defense, meaning it was getting stabbed over and over again.
“Yea, let's do it but please be careful your Majesty. Teleport with Amer to the Royal room and back again to be sure,” Zyx said and I nodded.
“I'll do that now,” I replied, remembering they couldn't see me.
I took the engineer’s hand and thought about our room, a feeling of peace overwhelming me as I felt the change in environment.
“Yes! I did it,” I exclaimed, making the young ky’rhan chuckle.
I did it again and we were back in the engine room.
“Alright, let's do this guys,” I said, hoping this was going to go smoothly.
Shit, I didn't have an air mask.
