CHAPTER HUNDRED AND NINETY-SIX

TESSA'S POV

It's been two weeks since I got thrown into this hell of a hot oven called a continent and I'm close to losing my mind.

When the general said he was going to break me, well, he didn't say his planet was going to be aiding him in that regard!

According to him, each time I let go of my stubborn streak and gave in to his demands, I'd get a reward.

Until then, I was stuck in this sauna of a room, feeding once a day and I had to figure out a way to earn my keep after a month.

Hopefully, I won't be here for that long but in the meantime, his mother has been in my space, stifling me more than the heat.

She heard I'd given birth before and was trying to make sure I got pregnant for her son, who, despite having a harem, was incapable of impregnating one of them.

“You have to rub this on your stomach every night, it'll make you more fertile and desirable,” she said as she handed me the smelly, putrid mix.

She was a fairer woman with Kohl signs on her forehead and eyes.

The first time I saw her, I was scared before she engulfed me in a hug.

That was the only affectionate thing I've gotten from her.

“When was the last time you bled?” She asked as pried open my eyes like a medical doctor.

Her scent of papaya flowed into my sensitive nose as she kept touching different parts of my body in her heinous inspection.

“I'm still lactating Ma. My child is barely three months old, and your son kidnapped me out of the blue,” I snapped in annoyance, getting up from the seat she had made me sit in.

Going to the open windows didn't help the heated room or the fucked up situation I was in.

“You should be grateful he doesn't have you in a dungeon by now. If you really want to make an impact here, you have to stop acting like you're better than the rest of these women and go meet him. I know you are the one to give him a child so go and meet him. Tonight,” she emphasized and I nearly rolled my eyes.

If I could, I'd have this woman out of my sight immediately, but my skull still had this stupid contraption on it, and I still hadn't found their library.

I needed to learn what to do with a damn plane when I came across it.

“I'm sorry Ma, I'll try to see him tonight,” I said to her, hoping it'll get her out of this room.

“Good for you!” She replied in that annoying tone of hers. “Ungrateful child! You don't even know how lucky you are. His Father was way worse than him,” she rasps as she gathers her bag and the plates she came with yesterday bearing ‘childbirth facilitating herbs’.

Thankfully, she leaves afterward despite her grumbling. I was at my wit's end already with her.

I mean, if you hated how your husband treated you, why would you wish that on someone else?

Anyway, I had bigger fish to fry.

When Xavier had given me the keys to the Mothership, I wasn't conscious of the mechanism of flying it, the engineers did.

Now I wished I'd figured that out.

The only thing that has been working in my favor was the gradual corruption of the women here.

They said normally, the General would have gotten angry and sent me to the dungeon, a place where either the silence or the torture would drive you mad.

The difference between me and them is that in as much as the General held my life in his hand, he knew I could snap his neck in two without moving a bone.

So the ones who could speak the general language watched as I defied him at every turn. I even felt a slight feeling of victory when he stopped dragging me with him to events. I mean, what's the worst that could happen?

I'd come to the realization that he won't kill me. I was their bargaining chip and they were waiting for news that Xavier had reached Zorvath.

Nothing of that sort; instead, rumors of the mothership completely disappearing were frustrating him daily.

Anyway, Lily told him no yesterday for the first time, and I couldn't have been more proud.

I'd met the other three ladies, and they weren't as hostile as the first two, so I realized why he always went everywhere with them.

So gradually, I fed them stories of the earth and how women began to fight for their rights over the course of centuries, demanding to be treated right.

But despite the impact of my words, he ignored my existence. I just feared he'd be able to press that button before I would be able to escape and with him dead, who knows what these barbarians would do to my body while I'm knocked out?

Also, he's always with that control even in his sleep.

Yes I've had to spend a night in his room because of his mother's interference and he gripped it so hard he mistakenly pressed a button and I was out like so fast.

I would have agreed to his demands since it would give me what I wanted, but the thought of another man touching me made me feel like worms were crawling on my skin.

It was safe to say Xavier owned every inch of my body.

So I mentally prepared myself for his unbearable presence again today.

I knew his mother was a weapon of his “breaking women” routine, a very good one at that.

But I won't let them win no matter what. She was the queen, so that made things a bit difficult, seeing as I couldn't even express myself, but I would figure it all out.

Everything wasn't entirely hopeless.

I'd snuck out one night and gotten into his office when he'd gotten drunk and slept off.

I found my way to the Air Force base and I got my hands on the details of the plane I planned to use as well as the information that it was faulty, so no one was flying in it anytime soon.

Once I connect my mind to it, I'll be able to repair it quickly and fly off.

All that was remaining was to figure out how to do that and I desperately needed access to the library.

So I guess tonight I'll be letting him win something.

Whatever it is, I don't know yet but I hoped against all hopes that he won't ask for too much. I can't cheat on my husband even if my freedom depends on it.
