CHAPTER HUNDRED AND NINETY-FIVE

**XAVIER'S POV**

It took a lot of work but I was finally able to gather a sizeable army who volunteered to come with me to get her.

The only problem was that we'd have to take a completely different path to their planet before rerouting back to Zorvath.

I'd packed more than enough supplies for a five-month journey and cut two weeks out of it by flying faster than the speed of light, but I couldn't guarantee enough supplies to last another three months, rationed or not.

So I could either head to Zorvath and conquer the planet first, get more men and then go on a whole new mission or go get her first and we find a way to go back.

The first option was the best one, but then I went to bed, filled with exhaustion and sadness, and saw her dressed in a Drakkonian wedding gown with that asshole by her side, and I couldn't do it.

I just had to go after her first and damn the consequences.

But I made certain concessions that would buy us more chances of success.

Right in space, I created a pocket large enough to conceal our ship and I hid it there.

Now came the difficult choice of who to trust with the ship without it going to shit in my absence.

Zyx was the first option but I needed him to come with me.

That left Lyra-en.

She was smart and had a great head on her shoulders, and she was strict with the T, so I knew she wouldn't have a hard time controlling the ship.

The only issue was she wasn't as loyal as Zyx.

She had been by my side as long as he had, but she was always questioning my actions.

This could be disastrous, but I needed to trust someone, and I didn't have much of a choice.

Kaid would crumble under such responsibility and Lamin was too much of a worrywart to get anything done.

So before I joined the horde of ships I'd created for us to begin flying off, I called her to my room.

“I still don't know why you won't let me come with you,” she grumbled, visibly hurt by the decision.

“That's because I need you to stay back and protect the ship and my son,” I replied to her, bringing out the key.

I could see the shock on her face; she never expected this of me, but tough times called for tough decisions, so here we were.

“You're… really trusting me with the ship? Thank you so much, your highness! I will never disappoint you,” she blubbered in shock and excitement.

“Please stick to making sure everyone obeys the rules and you can conduct a tournament or two to keep them entertained. You know how crazy a bored ky'rhan can be. Also, make sure you check on Xander every day. I trust the humans he's with but remember; he's a special child as well as a powerful one. If you notice any anomaly, call Memphis immediately,” I instructed her and she nodded erratically.

“Thank you, Your Majesty! When do you think you'll be back?”

“When I have her Lyra-en. I can't give you a definitive time frame but if we're not reachable after three months, you can come find us there. I programmed the location the Drak gave us into all the ships, including this one. I also have guards in place that can withstand any attack.

Although you shouldn't experience any, I'll be hiding you all from view the moment we fly out. Take care of them, Lyra; I trust you,” I told her firmly, slotting the key into her heart.

The transformation took longer than usual and I was scared I might have hurt her with it.

But finally, she opened her eyes, and they were a fierce blue.

I watched and waited for her to start functioning normally before I escorted her to the command room.

I turned on the public address system mentally and quickly so I could address them and be out of here quickly.

The thought of Tessa in the hands of these cavemen didn't sit well with me one bit.

“Good day everyone. We meet again under uncertain circumstances and I regret that our journey has come to a halt because your queen has been kidnapped. I'm sure you're aware of the rescue mission we're about to embark on, and I hope to return your brothers, husbands,, and sons to you in good condition. I'm sorry it came to this but I cannot function properly while knowing she's in the hands of some barbarian.”

I paused to let the tremors I'd kept at bay pass through my body.

I've been on autopilot all these while, training soldiers, selecting the right ones, manufacturing stuff, making plans; it was all too much, yet everything must be done perfectly to avoid drastic failure.

“So I leave you all in the hands of General Lyra-en. Listen to her and make sure to follow the rules laid down. Hopefully, we'll be back in a month, the journey is far. Thank you for your cooperation, see you soon,” I finished, giving a terrifying smile to the camera before shutting it off.

My reflection stared back at me and I realized I looked like a mad scientist on a quest for something impossible.

I'd gotten new engineers to replace the ones that were killed after we did the burial so while Lyra-en readjusted to the new presence in her mind, they were in charge of the ship.

“If anything goes wrong, now or ever, press that red button under the desk. But only if it's an emergency,” I warned them.

“Yes, your Majesty, have a successful trip,” Reed said, and I clapped a hand on his back in acknowledgment before teleporting to the main ship I was in charge of.

I flew out of the pocket, and the rest of them, fifty ships in total, followed suit.

Then I handed over the wheel to Kaid and I got out into space.

I spent almost an hour looking at my pocket. I'd hidden the ship; even someone with a location device connected to it couldn't find it.

Although I kept a few signs for me to find it. If we were running from an enemy, I didn't need to be stuck here, searching for the opening port while my army was getting decimated.

Finally done with that, I got back into the vehicle and gave Kaid the go-ahead to fly us in the direction of my wife.

Hopefully, I get to her before those bastards hurt her.
